Does M26 pershing belong at 6.7?

Does anyone else think the M26 Pershing doesnt belong at 6.7? I personally think it belongs at 6.0-6.3. Remember even spookston says the Pershing doesnt belong at 6.7. The Pershing just doesnt belong at 6.7 its not close to the king tiger armor wise and the gun is weaker also the M36 has the same gun at 5.3 or 5.7 depending on the nation.

It belongs at 6.3 or so but gaijin has it higher because ???

Gaijin has it at 6.7 sorry about the confusion.

i guess they should rework the m82 shot it does not make sense that a 90mm gun cant hit 200mm of armour with a normal shell or aphe shell

Not what I said

There is nothing to rework.

then it should go to 6.3 max

I agree, 6.3 is where it should be.

M26 is 6.7 due to M304, if it didn’t have the round it’d be 6.3 for being a better M4 T26.

Yes and no.

It’s probably too good for 6.3, but it’s also worse than most other 6.7s because of BR compression. The Tiger II P and T-44 suffer from the same issue too.

Yeah, I agree. Even the M46 is 7.0, how come M26 Pershing with so much inferior mobility and ammo come as 6.7?

And actually, I almost never take M26 or M26E1 out at their tiers. why use them when there are much better alternatives like the T26E5, which can withstand a direct hit from a german 88mm and a Soviet 122mm.

I can’t agree more. M26 and its variants should be at 6.3. This is the most fair tier for them to be right now.

Tiger 2P is just an H with a different turret.
Both get their turrets lolpenned by M26 and ammo racked.
T-44 just has armor and mobility.

Pretty much can just regard M26 as a heavy tank. Then, placing it at 6.3 seems okay with me.

In the new update, Tiger II P gets volumetric and the turret armor is no longer as weak as before. Will see how it does. But, I think M82 gonna have a hard time to pen the turret mantel.

No, it isn’t. It’s there due to statistics. Gaijin doesn’t care about nuance like this and the M26 was 6.3 for 3-5 years minimum with said round.

APCR is also awful and nobody uses it save for very specific scenarios. It has nothing to do with it.

It was there for literal years with not a peep from anybody thinking it was overpowered, because it wasn’t. Let’s be real here. It compares poorly to a lot of 6.3 as it is.

M304 is why its statistics are so high. Without M304 it can’t pen most heavies, and some mediums.
I exclusively use M304 because it pens the same at 60 degrees and far more as the armor gets flatter.

I don’t need to rely on over-powered over-performing APHE post-pen to get frags, especially when it can’t pen a significant amount of items it faces.

I haven’t relied on post-pen in War Thunder in my lifetime playing, cause relying on something I can’t control isn’t what i like.

Yes, APCR is really bad. Adding to that 90mm gun only has at Ace 7.5s reload. The poor mobility of M26 also makes it really bad, only 12 hp/t compare to IS-2 11.3 hp/t. It’s more fitting for m26 to go to a lower tier. Besides, M26 is too big to hide, an obvious and fragile target for all planes.

Nobody is using APCR, APCR is also not effective.

T26E5 way way to good to be any lower XD

90MM apcr is actually really good it can pen the front plate of a panther its low damage is its only flaw
