Does anyone else feel like the traction nerfs to "slippery rocks" is a bit extreme?

As the title says, am I exaggerating or does it really feel like a extreme nerf to traction/movement? I mean IMO it feels like you’re driving on oil and you can barely drive let alone get up hills now.

Tanks IRL have no problem getting over small ditches and climbing steep slopes and in WT their ability to do so already felt hindered but with the “Hornet’s Sting” update Gaijin’s gone a bit over board nerfing the traction so that you can’t drive any where that isn’t flat or specifically where they want you to go on the map.

Honestly if they keep going this way gaijin may as well just make all the maps either extremely boarded or without hills since there is no way to drive up them anyway now, both of which are terrible idea and would ruin the game play, particularly at top tier, even more.

I love every map being a giant open field OR 3 lanes

Its always this, an open field with literal no cover, or a map with a single choke point in and out. I love both designs equally (both are terrible map designs and shouldn’t exist).

What they introduced is bullcrap.

Gotta cater to pepegas.
Instead of letting people get good positions and learn maps we’re left with WoT-like corridors or flat fields.
“Work the flank”, surely. And then the devs wonder why their “dynamic” maps develop into campfests.
Great physics engine this game got, shame we can’t use it.

Japan is the map that made me post this lol, I got within like 3-5m of a hill and straight up couldn’t move and was stuck there as I had no traction.

The part that specifically irritates me is the inconsistency. Evidently one strata or rock has perfectly normal traction, or at least consistent with other terrain types, but then there’s this second type which has no traction at all but it’s visually indistinguishable from the rest of the normal rocks.

Additionally, what is also frustrating me is the locations it has been applied. I suspect that this is a bad fix to try and solve unequal map positions, rather than simply reworking the map. To me this fixes nothing, on the contrary it’s adding more flaws to the map and undermining player trust in traction of all things.

If it wasn’t already bad enough that players think the shell penetration mechanics are cursed and victimising them personally, now we can’t trust the bloody ground!

As with many so called “updates” more bad than good!!! Not only hills or rocks, even on the road or gras you just slide around like you where on plain ice!!!

I spawned in on hurtgen and couldnt even move in my ostwind 2. It was like I was sliding but in place. This needs to be removed.

How was this not picked up on the dev server, by anyone who had access to it?

Cause while some change was on the dev server, it was no where near this level.

Omg, this is just BS, i hope they will revert this

Wanna give me odds it’s intentional?

They want it to be a bad as possible, they didn’t test it on dev because they want us to be furious and fool us. They want us to complain so when they put in a minor fix, people accept it and forget its still a utter travesty of a change

Inb4 “devs play the game”.
Cuz we’re all convinced they do lmfao ( sarcasm btw)

I really cant imagine how they can operate in this way.
How can they release something that is this obviously f-ed up?

And of course, no one asked for reduced traction.
Its already super bad, much worse than IRL.

What is gaijins motivation for this?
To favor complete new players by constraining engagements?

this needs to be hotfixed asap. theres no way this is realistic in any universe

But actually we should not complain.
Gun sounds are changed again, the metallic clangy sounds is back, such a great development.
