From what it seems, it was passed nearly two and a half years ago, and nothing has came of it.
Why exactly?
That’s because it couldn’t even move properly.
It closely resembles the E-100, where only the chassis was actually built. To make it functional and drivable, more than half of the tank would end up being entirely fictional.
its a Super Heavy, they are supposed to be slow and impossible to manuver.
You really think the Maus or E100 would have been HALF as mobile as they are in game?
The E100 was powered by like 700HP at MAX.
The OI atleast had the benefit of two 500hp engines, the same type as would eventually be fitted to the Chi-To’s.
I’m pretty sure only a single track link was made, I doubt that’s enough to justify its addition
If you want to create a suggestion you can do so in the suggestion section here on the forum. That section is however pre-moderated and only posts that follow their rules and guidelines will get posted and it can take a couple of weeks for a post to get reviewed for publication. If it gets accepted and made public it then has a chance to get sent to the developers as a suggestion later on.
The Oi is very much talked about.
A: No, partially finished wooden mockup
B: already done
C: suggestion has been passt to the developers already
E-100 wasn’t powered at all because it wasn’t even a finished design
In my opinion such controversial vehicles should be allowed in War Thunder as Dreams Come True rewards during the Game Anniversary.
Maybe allow Replica Vehicles too like the Chrysler TV-8 and the Hütter Hü 136 Dive Bomber (Replica)

Prototype, not mockup. It wasn’t made of wood either.
Is that so? I’ve always assumed the thing was a purely paper vehicle… Is there any proof that if the unfinished prototype indeed existed, that it wasn’t just a wooden mockup?
That is not true. All of the drawings date to the '70s. They are not “blueprints” they are just “general arrangement” drawings. Blueprints would be engineering drawings and specs of individual components. There is no evidence that anything was ever built. Still.
Source for this, please? This is the first time I’ve heard this, and I’m wary of these claims, especially given the amount of ridiculous misinformation circulating about Japanese equipment (I’ve literally seen people on this forum saying the Chi-To is a fake tank). Have a good day.
Read the other O-I thread, we beat this to death over there already.
OI tank should be added I just checked, and you haven’t posted any proof or source that the documents are fake. You just mocked people who didn’t share your opinion and insulted them. In short, I’m wasting my time. Have a good day.
You mean like this 279 that exist completed and runs. I think the 279 with 100mm was the one that survived today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ncVfI7_cRE
How do you prove a negative?
Since you’re going to have that attitude I won’t suggest you do a google search, I’m not here to do your homework for you.
How do you prove a negative?
So basically you’re saying that we can claim whatever we want without the slightest proof If I understand correctly.
I asked why you said that Project O-I never existed and I haven’t found anything about your 1970 story document. If you’re sure of yourself, why don’t you show me the proof?
That’s all I ask of you. Also, please note that I don’t speak English; I use a translator
I apologize in advance if I misinterpreted your remarks. Edit: I reread my message and it’s true that I had a bad attitude, sorry.
Never built, can’t be added, and would be too large and relatively unarmored to be useful, unlike the paper tanks right now, the HO-RI.
IMHO, a prototype Ho-Ri would have been built on the Type 5 Chi-Ri hull. Even Japanese model companies portray it in this way with a mid-mount superstructure with less armor.
