Do you think Gaijin should expand naval battles?

Modern vessels would completely render battleships and most bluewater vessels powerless to a much smaller, faster and dangerous vehicle like the Pr. 205 Moskit where the greater the distance the more dangerous is. To naval battles handle missiles and more modern weaponry first it would require a entire new class of Missile boats. I have no doubt that all nations do have a handful of different vessels capable of composing a proper branch, however, maps are also very small and depending on the map, the missile boat would be completely imune to enemy response like sitting behind islands and other natural or artificial obstructions.

Yeah this is something they’re literally about to change

yeah i sure will.
its good that the community has the same opinion.
edit: can any of you guys send a link or something to the community post we’re talking about?
I’m having a hard time finding it.

naval needs a over haul before everything literally the most CBT mode in warthunder like there is zero incentive other than the historical aspect no one else would ever grind ROMA RICHIELU YAMATO VANGUARD and BISMARCK like why would you there fundamentally useless against a IOWA or SOYUZ literally zero incentive to play them and it shows

uss Iowa and Soyuz are literally unbeatable for a yamato or bismarck etc in a 1v1

and now america is getting a IOWA at a lower BR USS southdakota

Personally I hate battleships gameplay, this is probably the most boring and unfunny thing in the entire game, especially after the addition of bots in BBs. And I’m spading RN Roma with almost twice reloading time compared to its competitors for no reason (you can think about balancing component of the game here and the hell in RoFs with theoretical and practical mix, like it doesn’t matter…). Add to that retarded rewards mechanics, when you are firing at the enemy for 10 minutes and some bot finishes it stealing your frag.
I would rather see modern stuff, especially since even current Coastal fleet is way cooler and enjoyable for me (I wish there was a crossresearching between naval trees, so I could skip playing Italian battleships that much).

This was said throughout the entire naval development.

First it was adding blue water then battleships.

Look at how many people that brought in. Its a naval event and my matches have a total of 2-4 players

Besides, the reward isn’t appealing at all. For those who are really passionate, maybe, but the average player doesn’t care. Like with all the other modes, they could just tweak a few maps, the spawns, and a couple of systems, and it would be a huge improvement.

Current naval won’t see the large influx until they get out of the gun era and into the missile era so expanding into Cold War ships should be a priority.

I’m sure having your 50000t battleship snapped in half by a PG-02 with a type 90 SSM from 200km will be great for game play.

Only way u you get to play against battleships in your 1 game is if were a wallet warrior playing well above your actual skill level.

Same as a newbie buying top rank plane or tank then complaining they get flattened.

No sympathy.

facing battleships in your very first game in a Murmansk/Cadorna is almost a given

Aren’t modern anti-ship missiles kinda useless against battleships? since they aren’t intended to penetrate such armor. Anyway it isn’t a real issue since BRs exist and vessels can be easily separated one from another.

A 50kg SAP-HE warhead on the mavs can ammo rack the secondary guns on most BBs in game, there is a reason nobody builds battleships anymore. And regardless in game they can just sit at a point and endlessly hurl 260kg warheads (on the type 90s, and those are on the small side, there are plenty of ASM warheads over 400kg and up to 1000kg) across even the biggest map until they drain your crew, destroy enough hull sections to sink you or just get lucky.

Yeah I’m sure they will do that just like how they separate the 1960s SAM ships from the WW2 4 engine heavy bombers.

Another thing gaijin needs to do @Stona_WT @Smin1080p_WT @OrsonES

Is turn down the REVERB on the secondary cannons in naval, I swear it’s going to make my ears bleed or break my headset, even on low volume it’s super intense for some odd reason.

Secondly, stop letting Ai STEAL KILLS. Doing all the work just for 1 shot from an Ai to steal a sinking ship from the player is just this:

Thirdly, I HATE spamming A the ENTIRE naval Realistic battle to keep updating range on an enemy target. What the hell is my crew doing? Playing cards while I play street fighter to keep my guns on target??

Lastly, FIX naval bots all shooting the 1st player who spawns in, instead of their closest adversary whether it’s a bot, or player.

as time goes on, and especially in this last year, Warthunder has become far less enjoyable, and I find myself playing other games more often thanks to the dev’s decisions and quite honestly, if they keep going the way they are, the game will definitely die out sooner rather than later.

Not if they’re anti ship missile 2Bs

:)

I’d prefer if they start making proper gameplay in what we have , thatn keep adding things that won’t play well anyway.

Do you have any evidence for that or is it just wishful thinking ?

I doubt it’s easy to implement modern ships with missiles and who knows how many different mechanics. Development obviously takes money, so Naval would practically need to explode in player count (30-40-50x) to even justify the investment.

Naval has an inherent problem of it being a niche military branch, which inevitably leads to less interest from people.

Yeah. that’s exactly what I’m saying.
