Do you think Gaijin should expand naval battles?

So i’ve been playing more naval lately and i noticed something.
unlike air and ground battles, Warthunder’s naval battles are basically limited to WWII and lacks modern era.
with naval BR maxing out at 8.7, the most advanced vessels you can reach are late WWII battleships.
I know that not many players actually play a lot of naval and its natural for it to be out of Gaijin’s development priority but don’t you guys think adding modern naval warfare to Warthunder would be awesome?
I personally think that modern naval warfare with modern destroyers, cruise missiles and helicopters would attract players and encourage them to play more naval.

in Gaijins own words:

Q: Bluewater fleet trees are mostly seeing the addition of pre-WWI, WWI and WWII ships. Will we eventually see Cold War or modern ships in 2025?
A: The game already has ships from the Cold War era, but more modern weapons such as long-range anti-ship missiles and all their accompanying mechanics look like a rather difficult challenge to implement in a real-time online PvP game. So at the moment, we can’t yet give exact forecasts or even guarantees that something like this will appear in War Thunder.

as for my own opinion, going further into the modern era won’t improve naval one bit. Missile gameplay would be about as interesting as looking at a clock and hitting prompted keys whenever the hands reach certain numbers.

I think that they should expand naval, but to be clear they should be expanding every mode with new vehicle classes, game modes, and gameplay styles.

I played once or twice, waited three business weeks to get a match, finally got in, got smoked by three battleships… and I never played again after that.

well yeah. it takes time to get the hangs of things. the same thing happened to me in my first few matches.
also battleships don’t exist in low BR naval. so i assume you meant destroyer/light cruiser
i also don’t play naval as my main game mode. i play it as a break when i get tired of ground/air

yeah i agree. I think that naval should not only be expanded, but also completely overhauled.
one of the things that i think should be reworked is the kill count system because the current system is extremely unfair. like i can fight for hours to bring a ship from 100% crew to 4% crew and then if someone shoots at it once to kill that last remaining 4%, the kill is theirs and you go away with just an assist. completely unfair.

Modern vessels would completely render battleships and most bluewater vessels powerless to a much smaller, faster and dangerous vehicle like the Pr. 205 Moskit where the greater the distance the more dangerous is. To naval battles handle missiles and more modern weaponry first it would require a entire new class of Missile boats. I have no doubt that all nations do have a handful of different vessels capable of composing a proper branch, however, maps are also very small and depending on the map, the missile boat would be completely imune to enemy response like sitting behind islands and other natural or artificial obstructions.

Yeah this is something they’re literally about to change

yeah i sure will.
its good that the community has the same opinion.
edit: can any of you guys send a link or something to the community post we’re talking about?
I’m having a hard time finding it.

naval needs a over haul before everything literally the most CBT mode in warthunder like there is zero incentive other than the historical aspect no one else would ever grind ROMA RICHIELU YAMATO VANGUARD and BISMARCK like why would you there fundamentally useless against a IOWA or SOYUZ literally zero incentive to play them and it shows

uss Iowa and Soyuz are literally unbeatable for a yamato or bismarck etc in a 1v1

and now america is getting a IOWA at a lower BR USS southdakota
