Do the majority of players actually ENJOY WT anymore?

But its not Entertaining any more, its not fun.

its a Try hard fest filled with Bots and Hackers. That goes at a Million miles a second where Player skill has nothing to do with who wins a Fight anymore. Just who has the more overpowered garbage, or who Volumetric Screws over less.

Its YOUR pov. You don’t have a monopoly on what’s fun or not.

I don’t care about tryhards, I just come to have fun.
Some guy spawnkills right from the start with insane lines? I leave the game and move on, that’s all.
It’s just a video game.

If you REALLY can’t see the flaws, you need help. If you see them and choose to ignore them, that’s another thing altogether.

Lol. I see some glitches, but it’s the same everywhere.
Even in real life, there are plenty of things that go wrong, and I’m not going to let that stop me from living.

Meanwhile, I’m having fun, and you’re clearly not.

Which is why I quit. My decision, made by me, for me. Others can decide for themselves, but many others that have posted here seem to feel the same and I believe are only persevering because they’ve been playing so long that it’s become habit more than anything. Maybe due to the investment they’ve made in time and money they can’t bring themselves to walk away DESPITE how crap it’s become. This was the case for me… Until now. :-)

I saw that you have 7,000 matches in KW 2 alone. That’s 70% of my games with a single vehicle, and what’s more, in Arcade mode, which is, in my opinion, the worst mode of the entire game and i play since the beta back in end of 2012 i think

So I can understand why you’re getting fed up. I don’t know your playing pace, but I’ll never reach that level, and therefore WT will never take up as much space in my life as it does in yours.

For me, it’s just a video game. I play plenty of other video games on the side, and when WTbores me, I just move on to something else (roadcraft, snowrunner, kingdome come for example)

I have real problems in my life, and they’re really important to me, but a video game, no.

So I understand your point of view; I think it’s a shame you’re forced into arcade mode when there’s so much more to see.

Personally, I don’t think I ever play more than three games in a row in the same mode, maybe that makes a difference too. One game is a regular game, another is a simulation with the joystick, another is a resuscitation game with friends, and so on.

I only played arcade mode because at my age, my eyesight makes it tough to pick enemy tanks out of a forest at distance etc (even more so when they’re PTW tryhards covered in bushes) so when I played GRB I was at a significant disadvantage whereas in arcade the tank locations are at least indicated (in most cases). That’s the only reason.

Don’t get me wrong, I really used to enjoy even arcade mode. The game has just been getting gradually worse and I just got fed up with Gaijin’s money grubbing attitude and refusal to listen to the community and I refuse to support a developer that treats the community with utter disregard and disdain. As a result, I stopped spending any money on the game and have now finally quit.

Edit: Add to everything else the influx of bots and cheats, combined with team mates that are clearly playing well above the level they’re capable of, and the game is pretty much unplayable as anything other than a shooting gallery. No skill, no strategy, no thought. Just Press W and shoot occasionally. As Heavytanker1945 said, it might as well be COD.

I agree with you about the bots; I hardly ever see cheaters, to be honest.

As for teammates… Welcome to reality, right? I mean, I’ve been working for 15 years, and in every job I’ve had colleagues who acted like idiots or had the same kind of behavior, and I’ll probably meet hundreds more before I die. There are more and more idiots every day, and unfortunately, we’re going to have to get used to it.

A comedian once said, “There are more and more idiots every year, and I have the feeling that next year’s are already here.” ;)

And I have hundreds like that. All the blue dots? HUMANS. And yes, hard to believe, but these people might be the people you work with, the firefighter who will save your life one day, the nurse who helps you at home, your mail carrier, etc., etc., etc.

Idiots are everywhere, don’t worry too much about them, that would be my advice.

None of these posts I find helpful.

Heavy is claiming there’s a cheater epidemic when there isn’t.
He’s playing during hours when countries whose only good legal hobby is video games is awake, so of course they’re more skilled on average.
Claims over-powered vehicles wins fights when over 80% of OP vehicles have win rates around 50%.

@NshPPSH is responding to Heavy’s posts with harsh statements like…

Heavy’s posts aren’t saying nor implying that. Not sure how you’d infer that, honestly.

Then there are your posts, “Getcha”…
Hundreds of bug patches a year, thousands upon thousands of bugs fixed.
Blaming team mates for your lack of fun when you can focus on your own vehicle and performance despite losses.

The biggest irony is while your posts are accusing others of ignoring things, you never once mention that Gaijin could be working on a new game engine to solve many issues that said engine is needed to solve.
Engine development, by the way, can take years. And we won’t know what it’ll do until it’s ready.

And you played arcade, the fastest game mode… and expected it not to be fast?
Dude, I played arcade ground with a variety of tanks knowing full well it’ll be a faster match than my realistic matches…

Also, the game hasn’t been getting worse in arcade, the players have been getting better.

Also, apparently COD is as realistic as Escape from Tarkov now according to posts here…

Nobody is forcing you to either read, or comment, on anything in this thread. Quite frankly, I really don’t CARE that you don’t find it helpful. I’m voicing MY opinion. If you don’t find the comments helpful, feel free to mind your own business.

Pure speculation, and without any evidence to the contrary, it’s just as plausible that Santa Claus will fix it all.

Even in arcade mode you could get a decent game where players put some thought or effort in in years gone by with matches REGULARLY running for 15 minutes or more. Gaijin keeps distracting from what the game used to be (two teams battling it out to see who was best) by introducing things like the Battlepass with daily and special tasks that see to it that most of the team have different aims to achieve in the match, OTHER than playing as a team to win the match (in many cases at least).

A bit hard to “focus on your own vehicle and performance” when, despite the fact that you have more kills than the other 14 players combined, you’re over-run by a dozen enemy tanks within 5 minutes of the match starting. Usually because team mates have died 3 times and contributed nothing or died early on and couldn’t be bothered spawning back in.

Many of those bug fixes end up breaking something else, which then remains unfixed for many months. What about all the “bugs” with the damage model that go unfixed for YEARS, such as the famous T34 Nuke Proof upper front plate drivers hatch? How long has Gaijin known about this and all the other volumetric damage “bugs” and taken ZERO action on it?

That’s YOUR opinion, despite many disagreeing with you. Because you say so, doesn’t MAKE it so.

I used to. Now we just get stuff like this video. Gaijin REALLY needs to sit down and do a ton of Quality of Life work and not add new vehicles/copy paste the same stuff. Hell, look at how BROKEN the BMPT damage model was when it was released, much less what’s still broken now.

i do somewhat. Once you are done with the grind, and only play stuff that is fun, than its not unenjoyable. It does require premium time tho, cause without that you cant afford anything.
It is a toxic relationship.

Syria and Cambodia used MBTs from the 80s at best, the T-72 Turms-T is literally the most advanced tank from both conflicts, not exactly a modern MBT, and even worse, it mostly fought infantry as it was a counter insurgency war.
To make a reference, Thailand didn’t fielded any VT-4s nor Oplots during escalations in the areas of conflict. They mostly fielded M60A3s to fight Cambodian T-55s.

The third conflict you mentioned still has zero documented tank vs tank engagements, none. Only IFVs vs tanks, and that’s because that conflict in particular forced a change in tank doctrine for both sides, forcing armor into being more of an agile artillery than a direct fire vehicle, because specialized drones and CAS were ripping them apart.

And that last conflict you mentioned??? whatever.

Misleading. You cannot say it is both usual and by design, modern tanks are not designed for CQB against other armor, life isn’t COD4s campaign where an Abrams fires a sabot through walls.

If there ever was a close quarters engagement between tanks in this century, it is the astonishing exception.

War Thunder is a video game, remember. And I was talking about CQB engagements in general, not necessarily against tanks. In real life, there are no battles with only tanks.

And in all these wars, tanks have been used in CQB. Obviously, they weren’t designed for it, but the developer’s intention isn’t always the same as how the user actually uses them. It’s the same in all wars.

You cannot say it is both usual and by design

I never say that
