Airspawns?
These 3 maps are better than most.
better for eveyone…
I agree
Oh my God I’m so happy to see that everyone is unhappy with the higher tier maps, I was starting to lose hope.
No they are poorly designed maps, with no spawn protection
Which is why when gougin decided to really put the screws down on players with the economy, players went to steam and expressed their dissatisfaction, gougin promptly demanded steam remove those down votes or they would not support the game on steam…The down votes were then “removed” by steam…
Not especially, servers are rotten right now, gougin has pretty much destroyed any kind of air battles above 5-6,000 feet, same boring maps, tier 1 apparently only gets air dom maps, game is just like Sisyphus and his rock…About time for me to take another year long break…Been here since early 2014, back when it was new and fabulous and a blast to play…
You mean the Q&A where he states data shows players preferring smaller maps?
Something outside the control of Gaijin Entertainment…
His Q&A is one of my citations and proves my posts correct.
Shorter matches are a rather constant demand on the forums too.
Smaller team sizes would reduce match length, and that’s demanded rather often. Thankfully, Gaijin hasn’t listened to the pro-short matches crowd.
There are many reasons I don’t want to play War Thunder from 6 years ago, the shorter matches compared to today is one of those reasons.
If we never got the map voting system, Gaijin may have continued increasing ground RB map size beyond Red Desert’s size.
My whole thing is I like longer matches. That’s the foundation of many of my positions that can impact match length.
My bias is to make matches last like 10 - 20 minutes. Always has been always will be.
You literally just said:
Yet you’re now trying to argue about Gaijin encouraging faster gameplay?… Even though they provided no sources on where they are getting their data from, never mind the fact that the vast majority of people who actually play top tier, despise maps like Sweden, Sun City, Seversk and Port Novodomorsk (which has also been said in just this thread alone) because they are absolutely horribly designed CQB maps that favour autocannons and high mobility in an MBT rich BR, with half the nations completely lacking a competitive top tier IFV/Autocannon tank (Or a top tier vehicle with an autocannon at all) which is a whole other topic for another time.
Players are not Gaijin.
Not sure why you need to hear this.
Sweden is a huge map with the most amount of flanking routes in the game.
Sweden regularly sees >10 minute matches due to how complex it is.
By claiming players hate Sweden your post is claiming players hate long matches, and/or large complex maps that last a while.
All 10 tech trees lack meta IFVs for 12.7, because such a thing cannot exist when MBTs exist that are more mobile with better weapon systems.
And refer to this:
As of last week i completed the last thing i wanted to do in this game, and that was finish the British Ground Tech Tree… So now my feelings of this game are Apathetic at best.
Been playing off and on since 2014, I still enjoy it overall even with the problems that exist in the game
WT would benefit greatly if they added new game modes. the events like deep strike, SEAD, and guns only would be good to see added as permanent modes you could play. Would be nice to see something like that get added for ground battles too
We NEED a Grand operations mode.
64v64 on HUGE maps, With a Attack and defend system.
Like SO many other WW2 era games.
Imagine Whole TANK DIVISIONS fighting it out.
Give it Sim match making, But Realistic Difficulty, So that you don’t have PT-76s and crap running around Normandy.
Maybe even add Pop up side objectives for people like WAY back in the day.
Say Capture a Airfield, to allow for your CAS to have closer Spawn points to the action, or Clear a Town of hostiles to set up a Base of operations for a Closer spawn point for tanks.
Or Say your platoon gets ambushed by a TD squadron, You could call for help and THAT becomes a Objective for other players, To come to your aid.
This game has LIMITLESS potential, that Gaijin refuses to Capitalize on.
Hell something like this would make the PERFECT combined operations mode, Land, Sea, and air.
You could have Battleships off the coast Shelling objectives inland, Planes in the air doing both CAS, and Fighter work. While the tanks are on the ground doing the dirty up close work against the enemy.
I have a love-hate relationship with this game, more hate focused if anything.
If I have to be completely real, I absolutely HATE this game, there are several aspects that make my blood boil when I think about it, to name just a few here are the ones I can remember the most:
- Copy-paste slop
- Minute interest in foreign or derivative vehicle variants
- Little to no BR decompression
- Lackluster modeling of sensors, MFD’s, weapons, systems and other important aspects of vehicles
- Inconsistent transparency and reporting into their sources for vehicle modeling
- Outright refusal to change gameplay significantly, whether increasing map size or any other discussions brought before
- Lackluster bug-fixing
- Predatory nature of the game when it comes to premium options
- Unnaturally grindy and slow progression
And many more I can think of, but my main problem is the fact that Gaijin, this game’s parent company KNOWS that they’re the only game this detailed and this experienced that appeals to that intersection between realistic and arcade when it comes to the roster of vehicles they offer, to the point where they can pull any sort of questionable to malicious moves to the player base, aware that we, unfortunately, have no other choice.
The worst part of it is that, despite all of these problems, there are still genuine times where I still have fun, for example I love flying my Kfir C.10 Block 60, playing 5.7 Germany, flying for example the MiG-29SMT, playing the Leopard 2, etc.
Vehicles for the most part are fun to engage and play with, but when any of the problems I’ve mentioned before (which is most of the time) come into play, that is when the game overall goes from pretty good to abysmal.
fair. i feel like a lot of players at some point find a br, or lineup they like a lot and just play that more than anything
Yeah, usually 13.0 - 13.7 is pretty peak for air sim, or 11.0 - 11.7 for ARB.
I just wish all the BR’s were equally as fun, which is part of why I don’t like as much top tier.
No, I have nothing else in life besides this, so War Thunder would be equivalent to Crack in my opinion.
It does look like a lot of people are much like me, here under sufferance. Not really enjoying it anymore, cheesed off at Gaijin refusing to listen to the community on many issues that keep getting flagged hundreds of times but knowing full well that unless someone else comes out with an equivalent game where the devs actually CARE about the community, nothing is ever going to change.
The points people make about things like the broken matchmaker, poor map design, BR compression etc are ones I completely agree with. I also agree that the game is getting worse day by day. It’s very sad when you think what the game COULD be. It has such potential, but when they can’t even get the basics of damage modelling right, and refuse to acknowledge any of these issues, there’s not much point in holding our collective breaths hoping things will improve. Sad.
