You can even add the chinese civil war into this, practically impossible due to PRC and ROC being fused under China.

I miss when we had ussr vs nato and allies vs axis. Was alot of fun, especially if you had tanks such as the heavy tank NO.6 as you could see german teams in your tiger 1 which most german mains wouldn’t have come across so wouldn’t be the best against.

Yeah sure, ignoring the fact that we DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS. If u have played certain tiers, or certain servers or certain times you will know the pain of waiting 5 min for a match. This ain’t like CS or sth that we do have this amount of player that adjustments can be made this way. Decompression is the only way forward.

so it’s okay how is it? wait 5 minutes for a match where I’ll be playing against 1.0Br stronger, so I’ll shoot myself and leave the game after the first death, is that ok? so instead of 5 minutes I’ll wait 7 minutes, but at least I’ll play when it’s ±0.3. I don’t enjoy waiting 2-3 minutes after 10 p.m. for a match that is still only against 1.0Br stronger. I don’t even tank for the last few days and leave the match right away. I don’t like it anymore. where’s the fun why only stupid gaijin has playing against 3 levels stronger opponents? why? no other game has this! it’s absolute genocide to play against tanks 3 levels stronger. UPTIER must change! or change the frequency for a maximum of 25% and not 85% as I have! there are enough players and at night, it is everywhere in the games that there are few players, so we will put BOTS there like in ships. there is a solution.

I think 90% of players would wait the extra 5 minutes if it meant you ONLY saw tanks at your own br plus or minus 0.3. If im playing a chieftain mk 10 and the worst thing i could face would be an mbt 60 instead of a t80 i would be more than happy with those wait times. Would also allow for FAR FAR better br placements as some jets are “stuck” seal clubbing because if they were moved any higher they would be completely stomped themselves. Case in point, the mig 23 should have been moved up to 12.0 years ago but due to its mediocre radar and rwr its been stuck at 11.7, with the changes we could finally see it not destroying planes that really have no reason facing a jet like that most games.

Shame we may as well be pissing in the wind due to gaijins love for the “queue time” excuse, which i think we all know is just a lie.

There are tons of players. All the proposed system would do is re-organize who goes into what battle. The players will just be shifted into BRs closer to their garage.

Now Gaijin should try using 2-step gaps to start, and see how that goes.

I keep seeing players claiming decompression will solve everything - but currently - it’s like a fantasy. There is no light at the end of that tunnel and players are sick of having their jumbo 75 facing King Tigers or even Jagdpanthers. KV-1 (Zis-5) facing Panzer IV/70 is a complete joke. The list goes on.

Theres a good 200 people waiting in queue for russia at any given time for up to or even more than 5 minutes just because its russia top tier, given how popular even games like tf2 or OW are with 1-2 minute queue times i guarantee people dont mind waiting 2-3 minutes so that their tank from the 50s wont fight modern LRF equipped autloaded howitzers, or that a plane from tbe 60s wont fight planes that dont even exist yet and are purely concepts

+/- 0.3 MM would kill queue times at mid tier, and it’s objectively worse than proper decompression. It still doesn’t solve the issue of BRs having vastly different performance levels. There’s also the issue with balancing within one bracket being more difficult due to only have 2 steps per match, leading to vehicles not being balanced properly relative to what they face.

Squads can take 1m+ queue times now, imagine how bad it would be with such a reduced bracket.

.3 ill admit might be too much, maybe .7, but ±1.0 is not good, and is one of the main reasons the game is in its sad state right now.

1- thats a balance problem, not a queue problem.

2- even if i could argue that some of the BRs are horrific, the ±1.0 is why you have cases like an F14 from the 60s fighting aircraft like the F15E, SU30, and eurofighters. Versus a plane with… pheonixes. No, 1.0 wont cut it.

Ok, 1 minute isnt bad, most normal games take a good minute to queue, gaijins idea of people immediately quitting after waiting more than 5 seconds is a joke. Also are these squads all one nation? Or top tier russia? Top tier russia youre queing against 200+ people and split nations really confuse the matchmaker, my swuads usually only take 10-20 seconds except if its US+GR mid tier or russian above 10.7

Not enough to ensure short matchmaking time.

That it self is a false argument. You argue Gaijin ain’t doing anything with decompression why would they try 2 BR step which risks killing the game. Afterall long lobby waits have killed enough games.

Also the cases you mention are fine, since both the KV and jumbo are next to death sentence to downtiers and light tanks. The balance doesn’t just lie in up, but also downtiers.

I’ve got to ask—what is actually being done about the long queue times for top tier Russia?

Right now it feels like every discussion about balance, BR changes, or adding/removing vehicles just gets shut down with the same excuse: “queue times would get worse.” But the queue times are already bad. Sitting there waiting several minutes just to get into a match at top tier completely kills the flow of the game.

It puts players in a weird spot where:

Balance concerns don’t get addressed
New ideas get dismissed outright
And the existing experience keeps getting worse

So what’s the plan here? Are there any changes being worked on to improve matchmaking or reduce queue times at high tiers? Whether that’s adjustments to matchmaking rules, incentives for other nations, decompression, or something else—it would be good to hear anything concrete.

At the moment, “queue times” feels less like a temporary issue and more like a permanent wall stopping any kind of improvement.

Would really appreciate some insight from the devs on this.

12.7-13.7… we get 1 x 13.3 and no 13.7

EVERY game I played was 12.7 - 13.7 bar one 12.3- 13.3. Fix the match maker!
The mirage is doing exactly nothing in a 13.7 lobby… and you get to experience it every game.
We had 3 fox 3 jets… TORNADO, JEFF, VIGGAN. The enemy as can be seen by flags… PREMIUM FLANKERS, F16s and other great jets. Our team= you couldnt pick worse if you tried… What is this BS?

Also let the camos be used for all variants of the vics in a tree. Then at least when vics like this become power crept from existence we can still use a nice skin for ones that are the exact same model in game that might still be useable.

2 more “balanced” lobbies I was treated to on Saturday. I cant even tell the BR range but once again its rigged.

Looking at this lobby more. 12.7-13.7 We have no 13.3 or 13.7. The 2 13.0s are f14Bs= just lol pheonix. The rest have bad radars and sparrows vs flankers and friends. Is this game meant to be fun and/ or balanced?

Prime example of why statshark or stats in general are worthless. And the game is balanced by said stats?! Can see why overall US numbers are so bad… and its not the players

The thousands upon thousands of players in the game at any one time indicate otherwise.

This is the false argument as there is no proof whatsoever that a 2-step gap would cause the queue time to increase. same number of players in the queue - they are just distributed in a btter way.
Add to the fact you would have fewer players leaving battles early because matchmaker no longer screws them over with giant uptiers all the time. Win-Win

Jumbo 75 should not be facing Tiger 2, just like Jumbo 75 should not be facing 4.7 vehicles.
Neither situation enhances player enjoyment of the game.

The only thing I predict the devs do is turn on permanent mixed battles

The queue times at mid tier (6.7 air) would ironically not be touched and just be left at the 5 minutes they are already at. The same lot of people will continue to play it just as much as the rest, maybe we could even see more people play it due to better balancing and not have sk 60s facing props.

Would just be teams of russia vs russia with all other nations becoming minor nations because how the hell are you meant to compete with the kh38, lmur, pantsir, bmpt and so on… I would grind the centauro 2 if not for the fact they ruined the spall liner, giving it huge gaps, while keeping the auto loader 5 seconds when it easily could have been less and been fine…
