You’re not wrong, lately the uptiers seem brutal no matter what BR I play. 7.0 = 8.0, 9.0 = 10.0 etc. I will say that the only way to have some peace and quiet is to wind up with a “botfly” special task, then you will be struggling to get into uptier situations… and yes, I think this is deliberately done by gaijin, and its a pretty crappy thing to do to your player base in my opinion. There should be a way to control the level of uptier you are willing to play. I’d propose the following along with corresponding penalties for the adjustments:
Players that choose to play up to 1.0 higher should receive a %15 bump in rp and SL
The default “uptier” should be reduced to .7 higher increment unless the option described above (#1 is selected)
The player should be able to choose to play at up to only .3br higher but incur a 25% rp & SL penalty
Not only would this improve player moral and keep the matchmaker working quickly, this would also artificially help with BR compression. If people think there is some merit to this idea, I’ll put together a more formal proposal in suggestions.
playing F5Cs today and the amount of constant uptier to 11.0, 11.3 is very consistent with j7d and PL-5s and sometimes mig23 with r24r how am i supposed to fight against that?
Based on my 13 years of experience, the matchmaker strives to keep your win ratio at 50% so if you’re doing well, you’re going to be constantly uptiered.
I have been playing 13 years and I play all BRs in all nations and this couldn’t further from the truth. There is no randomness to matchmaking, and the “law of large numbers” proves that Gaijin’s matchmaking logic uses shady algorithms.
Just curious…you aware that the law you mention would say win ratios would be 50% for everyone just by RNG…
Matchmaking seems RNG to me, and i get my fair share of bad matches…the main reason i have to believe it is i see no reason WHY Giajin should care to annoy someone with deliberate bad matchmaking…when RNG is easier and works…
EVERY MATCH has players at top, middle and bottom tier…if “everyone” is bottom BR, where are the top tier players…none of them can find a forum???
I would love to provide evidence but Gaijin has stated long ago that their matchmaking logic contains trade secrets so the algorithms will never be made public. Until then, the metrics of my experience in 20,000 matches says that there are things in the matchmaking that aren’t RNG.
I whitnessed a Jagpanther get half way across the map, up a hill (big one) before a ASU could reach the same spot.!! Now how the heck is that possible UNLESS they spawned earlier than the rest of the team!!!
The SU30MKK and MK2 remain destroyed everything 13.3 or below…
The F-18A and C eraly continues to spanking 3rd generation fighters, along with the F-15, now that it’s at 12.7.
The main problems of the F-18 fighter jets remained untouchable by the changes in Br; in fact, they added an aggravating factor, which is the F-15… in other words, they worsened what was already bad.
The problem with the 13.0s remains unresolved as long as the su30mkk and mk2 is on 13.3.
What is the difficulty in placing the F-18 A/C, F-15A, and Su-30MKK and MK2 in the right place?
Why are you (gaijin) so afraid and hesitant to make the game less broken and unfair?
I simply gave up grinding the US with that crappy F20.
I can’t use an aircraft with extremely mid performance against F-18A/C practically the same br; that was already bad.
Now, with the F-15A 12.7 and at least four Su-30s on the enemy team, playing with this aircraft is unfeasible.
Previously, BR 12.3-13.3 was a relatively balanced to play, but now it’s become a purgatory of power creep and compression.
It’s amazing how the developers and decision-makers in this game don’t play or even know the game they’re supposed to be managing.
f18A should be 12.7 with 2 more pylons and f18C should be 13.0 with 9m.
The F15 should never have been moved from BR 13.0 to 12.7.
su 30 should always have been 13.7…
I could be wrong, but it’s all very well thought out, don’t worry. The balance between desire and frustration is perfectly calibrated (from their perspective).
Personally, I mostly agree with you, but anyway, I think this game mode has been dead since the Fox 3 came out. The maps are too small, it’s ridiculous, it’s like Ace Combat on PS2.
It offers more possibilities in sim mode, but the game mode is neglected by Gaijin, lol.
