[Discussion] Balance, Bias, Matchmaking and Battle Ratings

Depends of your playstyle.

They are OK for 2 cycle turning.

My favourite jets are the Grippen. I like to dogfight. I mainly do 1v1s though, so I would much prefer lightweight fights like the Grippen over the heavy F4s that rely on the radar not mucking up and spamming missiles.

fun fact, 27EA would be a sidegrade to 27ER lol

How is going from SARH to ARH a sidegrade?

r27er can be repeatedly given the same target again and again as they notch and then break notch, forcing somebody to keep the notch or MP the entire time or die. active missiles can kinda do this with datalink but its far more finicky and limited. r27ea would presumably work like current arh where once you notch it, it’s very hard for it to reacquire unless the other guy is TWS’ing you the entire time and like I said its pretty easy to break this datalink by say notching the host radar of the enemy jet

obviously r27ea has the active advantage of being able to defend or go cold after firing but to do this it gives up a lot of the things that make the r27er really strong regarding its DL+IOG

sounds like a cool tactic on paper until you are forced to defend from multiple fox3s too in a real match so you can’t relock

So can the 27EA…?

It would take less than 8 seconds to hit the target if the missile itself is fired within terminal range.
If the enemy can notch the missile in that amount of time, the R-27ER would also be defeated.

You play Arcade, that’s the problem. I play myself a long time Arcade, but never would play it again now.

Slowly trying RB more and more but, not only i am slow, also cant believe there they did not hoaxing…

Naval can be decompressed up to 9.7 before Igla-level anti-air is required.

I would argue that playing aircraft in naval should put you in extreme danger, and the existence of (to my knowledge) multiple jet-powered aircraft with guided anti-surface weapons seems to justify stronger anti-aircraft weaponry on ships. Your suggestion of further decompression, i agree with wholeheartedly, mostly due to coastals / low tier destroyers being forced to fight light cruisers with (comparatively) extraordinary firepower and armor practically every game.

The thing is none of the bombers up to 9.7 have weapons that can deal with the new BBs.
The new BBs require a minimum of 4 2000 pound bombs to notably damage, and the aircraft either lack the precision or the bomb load.

Are the Canberra equivalents really that bad nowadays? (I haven’t tried them vs ships recently)
Still, guided air - surface weapons are still present at current naval BRs, and the specific Igla Anti Air you mentioned would have to be on a lighter armored, and more role-specific AA ship / normal soviet 1950-60 cruiser.

Canberra Mk2 is the best bomber until anything with 4x 2000 pound GBUs.

I find it funny how F117 now gets Iowa beside it.

Can’t as on naval battle F117 becomes 9.3

I know, but squad. Also not that much a difference.

Is a difference because as Iowa is 8.7, the maximum aircraft that can come with Iowa is 9.0. Gaijin moves jets with guided bombs and missiles to 9.3 because players can’t spawn 9.3 aircraft in random battles.

They really gotta do something about these damned uptiers, because I can get that a few jets in rank 4 battles is manageable, but being thrown with your warbird into a battle where 3/4 of players have rank 5 jets is NOT fun, especially when you enabled the n00% booster you just got by some miracle
What am I supposed to do when almost every enemy I encounter outspeeds me, outclimbs me and outturns me, and every enemy warbird gets destroyed by my jet teammates before he gets to me?
