Hello everyone,
[REVISION DISCLAIMER & COMMUNITY UPDATE]
This proposal has been significantly updated based on constructive community feedback from earlier replies. The original concept of an unrestricted “open sandbox” lineup builder has been revised into a Curated National Preset System.
The refined goal is to preserve absolute nation purity and doctrinal logic while providing historically accurate representation for unrepresented nations. Crucially, this approach eliminates the need for Gaijin to develop bloated, copy-paste sub-trees for nations that do not require them—such as forcing the Benelux sub-tree onto France despite France already being a fully complete standalone tree.
Although forum polls cannot be reset after creation, I invite everyone to continue debating this updated model as a potential endgame Quality-of-Life (QoL) progression feature for Level 100 veterans.
As many players reach Account Level 100 or unlock top-tier vehicles across multiple nations, there is a recurring feeling in the community that reaching max level lacks a truly impactful endgame reward. At the same time, veterans who have dedicated years to researching different tech trees often wish for a way to field their hard-earned vehicles in customized, thematic lineups without disrupting the core economy or game balance.
The open sandbox system could still remain in the game as a feature for Custom Battles, where players can play with their favorite tanks or troll without ruining the progression of others
I would like to open a constructive discussion on a potential endgame feature concept: The National Custom Lineup System .
1. The Core Concept
This proposal introduces Curated National Presets for Rank VI+ veterans. Instead of an open “sandbox” where players can freely mix any vehicle from any tree, this feature provides official templates representing real-world armed forces that lack dedicated tech trees (e.g., India, Poland, Egypt, Chile, Spain).
- Unlocking the “Global” Tab: Upon reaching Account Level 100, a new optional hangar tab (e.g., “Global”) becomes available alongside the standard national tech tree tabs.
Historically & Doctrinally Authentic: Each national preset strictly limits vehicle selection to assets that the specified country actually fielded or operates in reality.
Utilizing Fully Researched Assets: Players cannot spawn a vehicle in a Curated Preset unless they have already fully unlocked and purchased that exact vehicle in its original national tree.
Zero “Meme” or Fantasy Decks: Because lineup slots are hardcoded to real-world inventories, players cannot create arbitrary, unbalanced, or fantasy combinations (e.g., stacking unrelated prototypes like the T58, TURM III, and Object 279 together).
2. Economic & Gameplay Safeguards
To ensure this feature remains fair, balanced, and non-disruptive to standard progression, several strict safeguards are built into the concept:
- Zero Grind Bypass (Native RP Allocation): Research Points (RP) earned in battle are not pooled into a generic queue. Any RP earned by a specific vehicle is credited 100% directly toward its original native tech tree . Playing a German Leopard in a custom lineup continues to research German vehicles.
- Ground Realistic Battles (GRB): Full freedom of selection. Since friendly markers exist, team identification remains clear, and vehicles fight at their standard Matchmaking/BR values.
- Ground Simulator Battles (GSB): Strict geopolitical bloc locking (e.g., NATO/Western vs. Eastern/Warsaw Pact) per match to prevent friendly-fire issues in markerless modes.
- Strict Level 100 Access: This system is strictly designed as an endgame perk, preserving standard nation-by-nation progression for new and mid-tier players.
3. Benefits for the Game Ecosystem
- Veteran Retention: Provides max-level players with a long-term sandbox goal and a reason to stay active after finishing their main trees.
- Incentivizes Multi-Nation Grinding: Encourages players to research brand-new tech trees from scratch to acquire specific vehicles they want for their custom setups.
- Monetization & Customization: Opens avenues for official historical camouflage/skin packs on the Gaijin Store/Market, allowing players to represent non-represented armed forces aesthetically without duplicating vehicle models.
(This menu would display operator flags for vehicles in your collection, including nations currently lacking standalone tech trees, such as Chile, Vietnam, Mexico, and many others)
Key Discussion Questions for the Community:
- Do you feel Account Level 100 currently lacks sufficient endgame incentives?
- What additional rules or balance parameters would you recommend to ensure this remains fair in Realistic Battles?
- Would a feature like this motivate you to research tech trees you currently don’t play?
This thread exists to discuss concrete ways to reward Level 100 veterans and provide long-term endgame purpose. If you vote “NO” in the poll, do not just leave a blank negative vote—actively contribute your own constructive ideas on how Gaijin should motivate max-level players and give value to thousands of hours of dedication.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and constructive feedback!
