That’s a very fair point, and from a pure tech-tree completion standpoint, reaching Level 100 is definitely just the beginning of a very long journey.
However, speaking as a long-time player with over 5,000 hours who has unlocked multiple nations, the standard progression loop eventually starts to feel repetitive. Simply jumping from one tech tree to the next doing the exact same grind loses its spark after a while.
That’s where a concept like this comes in. It introduces a fresh sandbox element for ultra-veterans, giving all those thousands of hours a unique gameplay reward. It turns the endgame into something more than just ‘filling the next progression bar,’ giving players a compelling reason to stay engaged and keep researching new trees.
WT needs a lot more tutorials. Most of the current ones are for Top tier stuff. Where’s my tutorial for HE? What about the Fritz X and those missiles the Fw 190 gets (I had no clue how to use those and had to look them up, and even now I have no clue on how to use the Fw 190s missiles)? What about scouting, you know probably one of the most important features in the whole game, which in all honesty should be at rank 1. What about how to aim rockets? There are so many things that gaijin needs to explain!
Mine is with my D pad. I can control the Fritz X just fine, but those rockets are just impossible! And for some reason when I use my d pad my plane will start to tilt away from my target which makes them even harder to aim! I grinded for many days to get those missiles just to find out they are impossible to use on console!
my english not very good, so i use IA as tool for better communication so i dont make a mess up, i hope you can undestarnd for using a tool that makes my communication better ^^
Honestly yeah, but that still sucks for me because I haven’t completed one yet lol. If I could use my convertible rp, I’d spilt it between the U.S. and German Coastal trees tbh.
would get me out of the doldrums of certain nations i can say that. I really have no intrest in japanese props as i have spitfires, but i really want to get up to NE BRs in japan, using the AV-8s has been good but that plane sucks vs the GR.3 as 9p absolutely sucks vs 9G. just get me to the A-4ptm and im happy
Wont happen. Its not profitable for devs. They want you to grind everything from the scratch and spend money on premiums and premium time. I cant just pair t80ud with ayit, dev wants me to either grind ussr air or to grind israeli ground.
That would be the dream! Huge stockpiles of Convertible RP are essentially useless for max-level players right now.
Even if Gaijin kept GE for standard conversion, allowing players to use Silver Lions for Convertible RP once a tech tree is 100% finished would be one of the best endgame rewards they could implement.
I completely understand your point regarding developer monetization, but as outlined in Sections 1 & 3 of the main post, this concept actually doesn’t bypass the grind at all!
To pair a T-80UD with an Ayit, you would STILL need to have legitimately researched and purchased both vehicles in their respective tech trees first. You cannot field any vehicle you haven’t unlocked yet.
If anything, this actually encourages monetization for Gaijin. If a player wants a specific tank or jet for their Global preset, they now have a strong incentive to buy premium time or premium vehicles in a nation they previously ignored, just to reach and unlock that specific unit.
Okay lets break it down. 2 situations: one with this feature on and one with this feature off.
So you have those 2 vehicles researched. You make lineup and play your grb games. No extra grind needed.
But in second scenario you cant do that. You need cas or ground vehicle of same nation. Which means you will have to go through grinding ussr air or israeli ground. And buy premium vehicles/premium time to ease the pain.
This was my original point. They will make sure you cant just reuse your vehicle in lineup with another nation just for free.
Also this way you can avoid copy or garbage vehicles which gaijin doesnt want you to do.
I like an idea of being able to use SL once complete with a tree so that way it doesn’t break the economy and gives a use for people who have hundreds of millions of lions
After reviewing all the feedback, objections, and voting patterns, it’s clear that much of the pushback stems from hyper-focusing on extreme edge cases while ignoring how modern War Thunder mechanics and Battle Ratings actually function. Let’s address the core misunderstandings once and for all:
1. The “Meta & Unfair Lineup” Fallacy
One Spawn at a Time: You do not control two nations simultaneously. Spawning an SPAA or MBT from a secondary nation after your primary vehicle dies leaves one single unit on the battlefield—the exact same tactical threat profile as spawning a single-nation reserve.
Balance is Enforced by BR, Not Flags: A vehicle’s combat capability, armor, and weakspots are governed by its Battle Rating. An ItPsV 90 or XM247 carries the exact same vulnerabilities regardless of which hangar card launched it.
The Meta Already Exists: Top-tier matchmaking currently suffers from heavy nation stacking (with specific trees holding up to 65-70% winrates due to setup completeness). Global presets naturally distribute top-tier capability, breaking winrate monopolies rather than creating them.
2. The Matchmaking Reality Check
Mixed Queues Are Standard: Worrying about seeing vehicles from different nations side-by-side (e.g., US and Swedish assets) ignores the reality of Ranks VI–VIII Ground RB, where nation pairing places these exact vehicles on the same team in almost every single match.
3. Retention, Burnout, and the “1-Death Leaver” Problem
Reducing Hangar Quits: The current high-tier epidemic of players spawning a single vehicle and leaving exists because players lack supporting lineups in newly unlocked trees. Giving Level 100 veterans the ability to back up their primary pick with earned secondary assets keeps experienced players in the match for 3–4 spawns.
Respecting 2,000+ Hours of Progression: Forcing max-level veterans to grind hundreds of hours of ground trees they dislike just to field a single aircraft they enjoy creates burnout and drives long-time supporters away.
National Representation: For players from non-represented nations whose real-world military assets are scattered across 3 or 4 trees, custom presets are the only way to field a unified national lineup without forcing Gaijin to add low-effort copy-paste sub-trees.
Notice of OP Update:
To address these points directly,I am currently updating the Original Post (OP)with a more comprehensive breakdown, clearer boundaries for Level 100 gating, and explicit mechanics to address these edge-case concerns. Please re-read the updated main post before continuing the debate based on flawed assumptions.
The whole point of different countries is that they are Different countries!
Asymmetrical gameplay, not just everyone running whatever the meta tank is, that way we don’t have everyone driving in the same tanks and planes.
On top of that, getting to level 100 is way too easy for this to just be a perk you unlock.
Maybe if it was something restricted to purely Custom battles I would agree, but otherwise, this is a fat NO from me.
