Did gaijin just forget all about f8u?

The difference is barely noticable. The F-104 accelerates much faster and weighs half as much as the 105.

Aim-9 B and E are both useless trash.

And 0 flares despite 90% of the missiles at this BR are IR guided.

Yes

meh sure i guess, i thought it was comparison if they were both at 9.3. hence why i mentioned chaff, the lack of which prevents the F-104 from climbing or else it would get easily intercepted by an R-3R launched by a MiG-21 that would have otherwise been quickly 1 chaffed by the F-105.

You can outroll them.

I’ve never seen anyone carry the chaff pods they are completely useless. Radar missiles aren’t a threat at this BR compared to IR ones.

I genuinely think Gaijin forgets that certain vehicles exist in every planned BR change which is frustrating since they basically create a new seal-clubbing vehicle for the BR bracket every time they try to fix the old ones which were doing the same thing.

I don’t believe they have a human manually double check the changes before releasing them

yes just turn forever allowing the F-104 and F-8s to make as many passes as they want as you get slower and slower while they’re pretty much untouchable

Look these planes are under-BRed and need to go up. It makes zero sense fighting F-104 at 8.3 and it’s unbearable. I don’t care if it sucks for the US players, these planes are unbearable for EVERYBODY ELSE

According to the leak list, the F-104C I believe is getting 2 x additional AIM-9B sidewinders in the next near major update so hopefully that will be enough reason to bring its BR up away from subsonic 8.3s

Except Air RB isn’t a 1v1. There’s 16 players on each side, and F-104s being present (and often surviving to late game) means that even if the numbers are even, that F-104 can just keep making passes at you even if you have a teammate or two on their ass because again, the F-104 is just much faster than anything else.

notice how you said the 9Bs just a few posts earlier are:

but now you say they should increase F-104C’s BR just because it’s going to get more of this supposedly “useless trash” missile.
how does something that bad justify a BR increase? for example the B-57A and B-57B are the same br despite the B-57B being an upgrade in almost all aspects including the addition of offensive armaments such as 50cals or 20mm guns, extra hardpoints on the wings and an RWR. and another example would be the F-5A, F-5C and the F-5E sharing the same BR despite the F-5E being, once again, a total upgrade over the older models with improvements such as a the addition of a radar, EEGS, better missiles, better engines, guided air to ground weapons (AGM-65) and more maneuverability, all for the same BR.
further more, the A-4B and A-4E Early have the same BR in air battles despite the latter featuring a number of upgrades including AIM-9Bs and countermeasures including flares and chaff (this is huge difference because it basically makes the popular sea vixen premuim basically useless against the A-4E because it is only armed with IR missiles).
on top of that we also have the Sea Hawk FGA.6 and the Sea Hawk Mk.100, which share the same flight performance on the same BR despite the Mk.100 having AIM-9Bs.
But the F-104C which is heavier and has a weaker engine than the F-104A has to go up in BR just because it’s getting the extra “useless trash” missiles.

The F8E is actually worse if you ignore the Aim-9C the engine actually produces less thrust

I guess the engine is everything nowadays huh…

I mean yeah outside of the Aim-9C which is trash the F8U is just better not only does it produce more engine power if you look at the thrust curve but it weighs less too
