Seriously, what is going on with high-tier Air Arcade Battles (AB) matchmaking right now? It’s completely broken, and I’m not the only one feeling it.
My squad runs a high-tier lineup, from Phantoms up to the F/A-18A, sitting firmly in the BR 11.7 to 12.7 range.
Here’s the problem: We are always in full uptiers.
90% of our matches are against the absolute top BR jets (13.7/14.0). There’s no variance. It’s constant pain.
The weapon gap is insane: My F/A-18A is constantly fighting superior jets like the F-15s and Su-27s that carry the dreaded FOX-3 (Active Radar Homing) missiles.
The worst part: My lower-BR jets, like the F-4 Phantom, are getting dragged into these 14.0 lobbies just to be deleted instantly. It’s an embarrassment.
This isn’t competition; it’s being used as filler. The BR compression is so bad that jets from different generations are clashing unfairly.
Fix This: Decompress the BR!
You need to raise the top BR significantly (like, to 15.0 or 16.0) to physically separate the FOX-3 carriers from the 12.7 bracket. Give us a fair fight for once.
Please sort this out. The high-tier AB experience is unplayable right now.
Ima ruin this for you, run the exact same BR or .3 BR vehicles nothing more or less especially at top tier for arcade like why are you bringing the phantom along side the f18c early. you have a line up of the F16A, F/A18A, F14A, F14B and, the premium F/A18C early their is no reason to bring phantoms.
Secondly how are you fighting 14.0 in a 12.7 or 12.3 max BR plane, lol.
Lastly BR decompression is needed, however your phantoms being deleted is your fault they would lose to an f15a or su27 either way, theirs a reason its not able to be matched against them on its own you are forcing the poor thing to suffer
okay now to actually discuss your topic, and not just be sarcastic.
You are the one making the phantom face late 4th and 4.5 gens the phantom, only faces early 4th gens, the early 4th gens face only early ARH carrying variants i.e. 13.0-13.7.
What problem would this solve either the f18’s and 16a’s would be extremely op with no higher competitor and the 12.7 and .3 variants are already bulling 11.3-11.7 BR range. Secondly their always will always be fox1 carriers before the AMRAAMs and they will overlap and its needed to put them in their place balancing wise. honestly the best solution that will never come is have a separate event mode for only fox’s 1 and 2’s loadouts.
Uptiers suck they are frequent nothing can fix that plus some of the feeling is induced by our selves only remembering the bad up tiered matches and none of the regular ones.
This one has the same response as above your airframe is 4th-4.5 gen you not having fox3s with good other qualities is actually balanced, you instead suffer form the 16v16/12v12 match stupidity, theirs less ability for you to close distance and fight back simply because their 13 fox 3’s so you can not counter even in your great airframe and topline fox 1’s.
This will be addressed… eventually, right now it’s a pain point that’s been made worse with the introduction of the Venezuelan thing which has come in under tiered so everything from 12.3 up is being brought up far more often due to the proliferation of the Su30mk2.
Air RB right now is just stupid for all tech tree planes. I’ve been trying to spade the FA/18A 12.3 in the UK tree after I failed at spading both Hawk 200’s
100% of my matches were made up of 80%+ premium aircraft. I never saw anything under 11.7 Mig23 spamming but most of my matches were against 13.3 Broken OP premiums.
A game that used to pride its self on how much variety of vehicals it has, slowly over time has removed all veriety and is now just premium spam of the exact same planes 24/7
Also after watching the Q&A I couldn’t help but laugh so hard when mentioned that changes to MM would reduce the veriety of vehicals you will meet in a match.
Edit : I also did some checking of profiles of people running the broken prem aircraft and found so many sub lvl 50 accounts, with majority of players with the prem FA/18’s using them as bombers with 200+ games and sub 50 air kills - Highest one I found was over 350 matches with 27 A2A kills in a FA/18.
