I think it’s just me but I never had a good moment with T-80, actually none of top tier USSR vehicles, so I can’t say much. But I’d rather pick T-72B3.
Effectively, yes, both have Gen 1 thermals, both have the same armor, both have the same ERA, both have similar guns.
The T-80UK is at 11.7 with all of that, a better round, and better survival chances, like a LWS, and soft kill APS that works on some missiles it shouldn’t.
You can’t take my record seriously; or even cherry-pick for one vehicle without looking at other vehicles. There are very few vehicles I play seriously, and they are usually Swedish, like the s-tank, which I’ve learned the in’s and out’s on, and even dropped a nuke in it.
So might as well give the thing 3BM60 and let it stay at 11.7. Cause for the love of god top tier br for both ground and air is still super compressed. We do not need to bring it down. Sure I agree that it’s not good at 11.7 but it’s also not unplayable. Still playeable but definitely worse than it peer , well most of it peer are also not that good,cause other nation also pretty bad at that br as well(Except Fuji and type 90s, they need to go up , that thing shouldn’t be at 11.3). So we don’t need to lower it BR. Give it a better round, it wouldn’t change much about the tank but give it better performance
AFAIK only T-80UE-1 can receive 3BM60, due to new autoloader. So other tanks will not receive a better shell.
Then they should stay the BR they all are as they are fine.
- good armor
- good mobility
- good shell
cons - bad thermals
- no depression
if you want me to go more in depth the T80UK its good at the br it is and i have enjoyed it so far + the LWS adds an extra layer of survivability helping me against enemy hellfires

Forward mobility is good but in reverse it kinda sucks.
Atrocious gun handling as well.
gun handling hasnt been an issue unless its vertical traverse but it has only messed me up like 2 times regarding that as for reverse yeah it kinda sucks but honestly much better experiences over my T72
if t80ue1 is 11.7 i dont see why the significantly worse versions are also 11.7
