Wanted to know what YOU the War Thunder players (especially those at top tier) hope to see in the December update considering its the most anticipated. (Keep in mind im a US main so my opinions may be slightly biased)
A list I hope to see (wishful thinking):
Hopefully we see a top tier US light vehicle like this (or one that is capable of carrying spikes), or a new top tier American ground vehicle capable of dealing with those pesky spike runners, or at least be on-par with vehicles like; CV-90 Mk.IV, Namer 30, etc.
As a proud RAAF enjoyer, I would love to see a two-seater hornet in the US tech tree, whether its the Block three at the end of this year, or the EA-18G some time next year, its a shame that Gaijin didnt add the E and F variants together, in a folder in the tech tree. I believe that the introduction of the Block 3 would turn the Hornet more toward an Air-superiority role, much like the F-15C Golden Eagle, with no real munition on-par with weapons like the KH-38MT.
Now this would be a more targeted counter to vehicles like a potential addition of the SU-37, or the SU-35. With a greater Air-to Air capability, and the advanced AN/APG 82(V)/1 AESA radar, the F-15EX’s role would move toward a dedicated BVR standoff fighter, playing a game of who can toss the most missiles with planes like the SU-30 SM2, whilst dedicated fighters like the F/A-18, and the F-16 get up close and personal. Whether War Thunder decides to add the full 24 missile loadout on launch is highly debateable, as the game might just might not be ready.
Im not including Russian, British, or Other countries air vehicles as I don’t know them as well, so just think of counterparts that could be introduced alongside the airframes above.
I honestly believe that the AIM-9X is in a good spot to be introduced, considering its infancy in ground. It seems to be limited to around 2800 km/h (refer to Gamerino’s video on it). Its usefulness will be limited in Air RB as the ‘Meta’ is constantly evolving away from close quarter combat to more strategic long-range BVR Fox 3 engagements. I’m not sure weapons like the AIM-260, or the R-37 are ready yet. Maybe closer toward the introduction of 5th gen fighters they would be a smart decision.
Counterparts such as the ASRAAM, IRIS-T, R-73M, and others would logically follow. And just quickly touching on balance, I’m a strong supporter of adding something new for a nation, and then adding a counterpart for one or more nations which can directly counter said weapon/vehicle.
Anyway, spiel over. Let me know what you all think of these additions and how they could potentially look in the game.
