Dance of Dragon - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Yeah and they can do that after not getting any new MBTs for the next 6 months.

Oh really, power of data mine. I was saying irl (I suspect).
Plus it is just some people thinking US superiority overall.

If the hatches were open, it is easier and more efficient to throw the same grenade into the crew and then pick up the tank without damage.

There isn’t much info on the AIM 260 AFAIK so i have no idea where you get those claims off of, heck there aren’t even pictures of it. PL-15s are also different missiles compared to Meteors which uses a ramjet, the PL-15 doesn’t. There are rumors of ramjet missiles coming from China but nothing is confirmed as always. I also don’t get where you claim the airframes to be worse and radars aswell since there are no info whatsoever about the J-20’s AESA and J-16’s AESA radars that are currently (arguably) the most advanced radars they have.

It’s up to the developers to decide when to add what.

It may do, against Gen 5 that drops significantly. Acquiring a firing solution on a stealth airframe isn’t as simple as I can see it.
I don’t doubt China are closing the gap, but then I read today F-22 is having sensors upgraded and the new Peregrine missile integrated allowing F-22 to carry 10 BVRAAMS in stealth mode.
In War thunder though that wont matter, they will struggle to model stealth and we don’t have support assets to guide our BVRAAMS making them far less effective.

This is a countermeasure of armament. strongpoint still takes soldiers to occupy; it takes machine guns, barbed wire, trenches to stop soldiers. Tanks are here to stay until they are replaced.

A tank still requires the enemy to pay a huge price, anti-tank is not as easy as the “useless armor” period, even then, tanks still need the enemy to have a lot of countermeasures, let alone now. The ww2 misled many people, in fact the tank was still mostly tasked with fighting infantry, so it carried a lot of HE and machine guns. When you carry a jammer, you won’t be harassed by drones. Just because tanks are important doesn’t mean they can’t be destroyed. The media selectively reports on tanks being destroyed but rarely reports on tanks doing a lot of damage to enemy armor, infantry, and fortifications.

Tanks replaced cavalry, and rifles replaced spears. The main purpose of the battleships was not to defeat the enemy battleships, but to have the largest strike range (20km to 40km) .the carrier, which replaced the task of the largest strike range (200km to 800km). With the current technology, there is nothing to replace the tank.

This works the other way around aswell, China also has 5th gens. Also AFAIK Peregrines aren’t yet adopted. There are also rumors of China working on this which would increase the internal load of J-20s:
pl-16

That’s not what I’ve heard, if they can do this why do they have to retire 30 of them?
J20 currently have 6 PL15s and 2 PL10s but I don’t know how F22 can carry 10 AIM120s, like squeeze them or something :D (they can just make them smaller like PL15 to PL16). I hope J10 drag stuff gets fixed cause it currently is like insane.
To my opinion, US military spending will at least halve if they get rid of the monopoly but it is just how it is RN.

J-20s have 4 PL-15s, not 6.

PL16 has apparently smaller diameter than PL15 and folded fins apparently, they added to wiki even don’t know why, not fully confirmed but very doable and tech does exist.

You said it yourself, PL-16s. Also so far no J-20 with PL-16s has been seen.

J-20 “mighty dragon” isn’t as stealthy or as capable as an F-22…No one in the world will argue against that.
The main work horses are Su-30 derivatives which are also not superior to F-22/F-35 or F/A -18F
The radar claim we would all be incredibly surprised if China are producing an AESA radar as good as the US/West.
JATM has been a project for awhile and it has been conducted under the utmost secrecy we only have images and data from the AAAM project. Incorporating the detaching booster and powered by RAM jet.
Ranges are 200km…But we all know the US never declares accurate ranges.

Sure, i digress since this convo makes no sense.

Sorry my mistake, I will change it, thought I said PL16. It is uncomfirmed but I think it could be spotted in the near future. Up to this point we still don’t know what the other J20B upgrades are except WS15 and double seat version.

Zhuhai later this year could show cool things.

Future Optical Equipment dedicated to NGAD Spotted on an F-22 (armyrecognition.com)

Sorry the sources are the same, it seems Raytheon have won the contract to upgrade the F-22. US plan to keep it in service into the NGAD programme.

J20B would be so cool with WS15 although I think they gave up on thrust vectoring which would be even more cool.

I said that i digress.

All good, I’m a civilian so I have no idea what any of these classified Gen 5 systems can do. Hopefully Gaijin model them as close as they can
