DAIRCM for AH1Z and AH6M

I feel like electro optical might refer to the way it detects and tracks the missiles

The AAQ-45 incorporates multiple technologies developed by Sarkady’s IRCM Systems Section in collaboration with the Applied Optics Branch of the Optical Sciences Division: including two-color IR Focal Plane Arrays for the threat sensor, missile, and hostile fire detection algorithms, jamming techniques, quantum cascade lasers, and IR fiber optic cables capable of transmitting high optical power.

I mean I’m not sure but all the LDIRCM systems like the CIRCM use a turret that point a laser to defeat enemy missiles, while the DAIRCM replaces the AAR-47 MWS and doesn’t seem to use any turrets so understood it that it wouldn’t be able to shine a laser at a specific point?

Theres informnation in my sources that explain how it works. It does in fact use and IR laser. And it is directed through the sensor/beam directors. There is at least 4 of them and the laser can feed all 4 beam directors.

Someone else that’s more knowledgeable than me should make a bug report lol

Ah64e too

This is a different system there is no evidence that ah64e has been installed with DAIRCM as of yet.

what is even the diffrence of circm and daircm. i could see in the dev server that it has the wing mounted circm pods but not that they actually worked…

DAIRCM means Direct Aperture IRCM. Its how it works essintaly. Its a fairly new system that uses a single laser that focuses it through these sensor/bean directors that a computer controls to make the most effective defense against missiles.

Isnt this literally what circm is ??? Like the northrup grumman video?

they are different systems

So dircm is just built in and circm is a simpler verison mounted on pilons?

Thats one thing thats different yeah. DAIRCM is also newer and smart(has a computer)

im fairly sure circm is daircm(its not apparently only leonardo has a design thats in service rn of daircm). there are some figures on the laser wattage going on the internet and its pretty high, but is there even a difference betwen LDIRCM and DAIRCM? like as far as i know the term LDIRCM isnt used outside of WT

there wouldnt be a distinction between built in the airframe and installable

Please stay on topic.

Not exactly, they are functionally similar systems that use different mounting solutions.

The CIRCM is mounted to the Wingtip station, which prevents other systems (such as a Sidewinder, ATAS or other sensors / uplinks from being mounted).

The DAIRCM, replaces the AAR-47 UV MAWS in their cheek / aft blister(s), and still provides at least equivalent functionality for the Countermeasure suite.

AH-1Z should have the APR-39D RWR

AH-1Z missing AAQ-45 DAIRCM (laser DIRCM)

can confirm that the AH-64E currently has the same magical shield as Mi-28NM Ka52 and Z10ME
let’s see how long it takes before they make it realistic now!

im not sure if they are gonna make it realistic, if the new russian AA was IR they would have already fixed it but because its ARH idk if they are gonna bother
