Going to wait for the first patch of the new year and if there’s nothing then I’ll keep my word and submit those suggestions, I’m pretty sure I can submit them in a way that keeps them on topic.

The screenshot does not say what you claim.
Why do the Luchs and Leopard have Weimar Republic Naval flags? Aren’t the models in game the WW2 German variants with upgraded Guns and torpedos with the addition of AA guns?

They want Taiwan to stay as a military flag, but not nation flag.

That is an uncontested bug report manager referring to vehicle flags specifically.
There has been no statement affirming that manager’s statement, let alone for the national flag of ROC for the purposes of custom flag selection.
So to say any take based on such limited information would be speculation.
Which is why I have never made a take on the bug report despite knowing about it since its closure.
I’m not going to speculate, and if I did I would explicitly say that the statement is speculating due to lack of information.
Better yet, where is ability to set them permanently to default? I go into a game and see 10 different countries… it’s super annoying
He reports for the company, that the military flag instead of the national flag is not a bug. Therefore it is Gaijins policy. There is nothing speculative about it. They didnt use the military flag by a mistake.
You can select what flags youd like to see in game in the cogwheel on the flag line.
Its called something like “Use operator flag in battle”

Your post is also speculation.
That manger’s post is in response to a bug report for army vehicles.
It is not a bug report for the custom flag functionality which this topic is addressing.
So unless a staff member says more on the matter, that bug report is exclusively for the material it mentions.
After all, the national flag is in-game:

Does the PLA vehicles use the PLA flag? How common is the use of army/navy/air force flags instead of the national flag? Why is the ROC army flag used for vehicles of the ROCAF? The issue on CBR was not limited to army vehicles, but aircraft as well.
The whole point of this thread is that the flag used on the statcards of the ROC vehicles is an army flag and not a national flag. Therefore it is not included in the custom flags functionality.
I agree on the issue with you.
My only issue is that speculating Gaijin’s position on the ROC flag because a manager denied changing the vehicle background flags isn’t helpful to discussion.
Stuff like “We don’t want to put military flags in the custom flags functionality.” is a statement that addresses this.
Cause ultimately, you and I want the national flag beyond decals.

Add the option to choose flags for the Blue team and other flags for the Red team.
I mean, for example, if I’m playing as Russia and the matchmaker puts China on my team, then I’ll roleplay that China is my ally. If I’m playing as Russia and the matchmaker puts China on the enemy team, then let China see itself with the Taiwanese flag (or any other).
In other words, they should add the option to choose the flag of the TT according to the matchmaker. Another example: I have a Pakistani lineup. If I’m playing against the UK, I’ll choose to display the Indian flag. If the UK is my ally, I’ll choose to display a different flag (within those available for each TT).
In this way, everyone will roleplay the MM according to their interests, without creating conflicts and at the same time, creating more realistic or personalized MM according to our interests.
