I think all flags within a tech tree should be able to be selected that includes army, navy, air and many others, if you have that operators flag you should be allowed to selected it.

If and who recognises it does not matter. It is a nation that exists. Even if youre a PRC nationalist you cannot deny that before civil war there was a Republic of China. Even if it got annexed by PRC today the vehicles used by RoC should have a RoC flag. The same way GDR vehicles have GDR flags. Not only is Gaijin taking a political stance by treating Taiwan differently, they are also making the game inconsistent.

Thats not a political issue. People know the ROC as Taiwan.
We call the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, “UK” / “United Kingdom”, so why can’t we call ROC, Taiwan?
To allow people to discuss the change…?

Answer to your edit: because the question of the RoC flag is a serious grievance for a lot of players and it deserves a place to be discussed. This was its topic before and now it is its topic again.

That would not be a China specific issue. If Gaijin would want to avoid this, they would have to remove the entire concept of changing flags for all nations.

What bad things exactly? The flag is only visible to you, having it doesn’t force anyone else to see it, while those who don’t want it in the game are forcing everyone else not to have it. Considering that the ROC army flag and ROC vehicles are already included in the game, by whatever that logic, we shouldn’t have them already.
