Then who operates vehicles like the CM-34 Clouded Leopard? Is it a fantasy vehicle crewed by ghosts?

Anyhow, Taiwan has little to do with my main argument which you can find here. I want to hear your counter argument.

Both are heavily disputed and it’s a conversation that attracts the worst kind of people.

(I don’t disagree with you btw, I personally think taiwan might as well be a state since it has its own functions, military, government, and what basically are foreign relations, all of which are independent from the people’s republic of china).

RoC having its own vehicles in War Thunder confirms its existance as an separate entity. Its like disputing earth being round. Do people do it? Yes. Does it make sense? No. Allies during WW2 did not gaslight themselves into thinking there is no Vichy France, and nobody today doubts the existance of North/South Korea. The “worst kind of people” want us to think its disputable. We should not let them manipulate us into doubt. We are better than this.

I literally agree with you, I just cannot be bothered to have an argument over what might as well be fact. Especially on a subject (recognition of statehood) that might not be fully relevant to adding the ROC’s flag.

(Especially considering that the subject of statehood seems to send “the worst kind of people” completely off topic so considering how easily distracted they get, I’d rather not give them more distractions then necessary).

I dont think recognition of statehood and existance of a state is the same. But i agree we should not continue this discussion here. I just saw a forum user get vaporized.

honestly if a nation is recognized or not has nothing to do with it having a flag and having vehicles, the vehicles represent the user, be it a state that exists or once existed.

On a side note of national flags that are ingame, I noticed the Syrian flag has changed on the vehicles that have it, they are using the pre 1972 flag (three star) now for operator nation but have the modern one (two star) as the background.

Edit:
Looked will be fixed when update drops, someone else noticed a month ago

Please stop making political claims.

Why are you wanting to indulge in politics so much? This isn’t a political game

My argument is entirely apolitical, it’s based on historical faithfulness and holding ROC to the same standard as other in-game subnations and operators

Can you explain why you’re opposed to this without introducing politics?

Honestly, I just wonder

Both sides make political claims
Because the [six-letter word starts with T], or the [14-letter word starts with R and ends with A] itself is a political problem.

But why do you guys want to shut our mouths with magical ‘political’ words?

PRC claiming the Taiwan island as a province is a ‘good’ political claim
Westerner claiming the island of Taiwan as a country, a bad political claim?
(FYI, I hate to see both of these.)

Yes, War Thunder isn’t a political game.

The converse is also true.

Stop bringing political things to gatekeep the tiny flag.

Whether Taiwan is a nation or not is a political thing; stop bringing it up.

We just want to have ‘some tiny little flag’ which almost all of the other subtree provides with no exceptions.

@Smin1080p_WT Sorry to ping you like this, but with the dev server closing in 3 days and still no response from Gaijin about the questions regarding the RoC flag, I have to ask.

Can we expect any kind of commentary from Gaijin/Gaijin employees such as yourself regarding this issue before the release of this update?

Because if there is no response, I’m afraid it’s looking more and more like the company is trying to sweep this under the rug.

Because this is just a flag. This is an unnecessary and not needed change.

Didn’t see people fighting for the correct Japanese national flag this way. In fact they all got pretty upset when the Japanese naval and ground forces flag, which isn’t the national flag of Japan, ever, got removed.

Its political to call a region that is self-governed a country?

There is no belief, it is the truth. Taiwan is a country. Whether it is a recognized country or not is political, but it’d still be a country nonetheless. It is a self-governed region, which is the definition of a country.

Because just as with the whole Tiger 2 (p)/(h) stuff, people assumed that the naval ensign was Japan’s flag during WW2 because that is how it has been shown in books/documentaries/most other forms of media. It is a case of unintentionally making misinformation the truth in the eyes of the masses.

The same does not apply to the debate about the RoC flag in any way, shape or form.

Please stop making such inappropriate claims

A self-governed region does not mean that it must be a “country”

There was like two posts. You are a professional at making small things big.

Plenty of people were upset, and some are still upset

Per Oxford Dictionary, A country is;
" a nation with its own government, occupying a particular territory "

Taiwan has their own government. Are they recognised by most of the world? No. But they do have their own government, their own elections, their own military, etc. etc.

I’m not making a political argument, a political argument would be talking about recognition and international relations. Which I’m not.

Zuli, just stop replying to his comments. This is not a discussion to have here on these forums and if he continues with it he is the one at risk of moderation.
