I got the Jas39A some time ago. Thought that it’s going to be fun to play and grind from now on. Well I wasn’t quite right. The biggest problem are the missiles and the br matching. I get it, it’s 13.0 but I don’t think that a stock Gripen with Rb 71s should be facing should be facing Fox 3s. I know I have chaff, I should fly low and have my radar turned off, but even that doesn’t help, because someone flying their 14.0 f18 can just easily destroy me with 10 overpowered missiles. I tried to get used to it but I it’s nearly impossible to even get 1 kill. If they won’t do anything about it I think I’m just going to quit the game.

Missile Thunder BRs are all about Situational Awareness and constantly checking where you are on the map where the enemy is…and where you think the Unspotted enemies are…NEVER be the Tip of the Spear! In ARB at the start there are directions you shouldn’t fly in because it will put you more towards the mass of the enemy team…8+ people that will probably shoot at you!

Even gripen A should crap all over F-18s provided they know how to notch well enough to get to merge.
multipathing is a terrible way to defend against missiles.
Flying at medium alt and notching is more effective and reliable.
Turning radar off won’t do anything, you’re hurting yourself more than anything due to loss of awareness.
Yes, 13.0 is a meh matchmaker because of premium flankers, but this rn is just skill issue tbh.

Theres your problem.
Lower and slower you are, lower your range is for any missile, IRs included.
You also limit both defensive and offensive options to essentially 2D plane whereas someone at 8km has 3D space aviable to him.
Lastly, if missile is going from higher alt to lower, its not wasting its energy fighting gravity.
At BRs where people can engage you BVR, you might as well play tanks with blindfold.
AMRAAMs and overpowered sure is a take.
JAS39A is the best example of airframe being too good for its weapons.
If you struggle with it, go back to what you know works, skip it and grind JAS39C instead. You can always go back to JAS39A once you get better hang of it.
