And ALL of them you’re more likely to win if you have all the crew skills
-1.0 BR: instead of just having an advantage, now you will absolutely codwollop them and smear them over the floor. Much MORE unfair.
0 BR: instead of being equal, you now have a large unfair advantage.
+1.0 BR: instead of being at a disadvantage, you now have a small advantage (even if it was merely made equal though, this still wouldn’t be reasonable, because you’re not balancing that out by losing your advantage in downtiers in exchange, you’re just getting the long end of the stick on EVERYTHING)
It would be more like you not knowing whether your candy bar was stolen or you misplaced it.
Uh no, because I do in fact know that crew skills exist and exactly how they work and that they are making a bunch of players win more.
But how likely is that going to happen that you have two identical vehicles? Given that I ran a full team today of unmodded Italian rubbish facing players vehicles that many may have used for years. What about ammo carried? Player skill level ,coolness under fire etc etc .Then you have all the latency/internet issues on top.
You are worrying over something that you cant see manifest itself so what difference does it make to you? It is only a nice touch for the player who pays for it.
I agree. It’s an issue that arises from people without skill being able to buy a replacement for their skill, when they shouldn’t be able to. Skill issue indeed.
I said BR minimizes diversity as much as possible.
Even if it didn’t though, that’s all actually irrelevant anyway. No matter what the matchup is, +3 BR, -3BR, it’s the exact same fixed, unfair advantage added anyway, so that was all off topic and didn’t make sense to bring up in the first place. I apologize for letting you drag me down with you into irrelevant side excuses.
By your logic, it’s okay to let some people in the Olympics start running before the gun, as long as they weren’t the favorite to win and didn’t have the best qualifying time. No, it doesn’t matter. Everyone obviously starts at the gun.
But how likely is that going to happen that you have two identical vehicles?
Considering the amount of copy paste M18s, Panzer IVs, T-34s, T-72s, Bf109s, Zeros, Shermans, Migs etc, decent enough chance.
You are worrying over something that you cant see manifest itself so what difference does it make to you? It is only a nice touch for the player who pays for it.
The only reason crew skills are perceived as not pay to win is because the effect is difficult to quantify in a game that is an RNG hell full of sketchy and questionable things.
Either way a 20s repair opposed to a 40s repair is a 20s advantage no matter how you twist or turn it, crew with double the HP, seconds of your reload, improved traverse, improved aiming, improved handling… all those things don’t go away, they might get obscured in all the other factors, but it doesn’t remove them, the advantage exists no matter what.
It is as according to the playing populus. There is no way of knowing in a million permutations what is responsible for what with any certainty. That is why opinion changes over time. That is why we change our minds as we progress.
If wanted to access how much more successful I was and what it was down to I couldn’t. If I had a good game was it down to my crew skills or just having a good nights sleep the night before? I don’t know having paid my money and the other guy sure as hell doesn’t know having never paid.
I have zero way of knowing what crew skills my enemy has unless i sit there with a stopwatch.
CAS: no, you can’t pay for better CAS than everyone else, so it’s not PAY to win. It can win a game, but not by way of having PAID more.
Bushes: yes, those are also P2W, what’s your point? They shouldn’t be. They should fix this (the easiest legal way to do so is giving everyone bushes for free)
Premiums: I don’t think premiums are better than normal vehicles. But if for sake of argument they are, it would also just be “Okay and what’s your point? They shouldn’t be.” anyway as well. They should fix this (by raising their BR) if so.
Hiding behind a rock: You can’t PAY to get more rocks to hide behind than other guys, so it’s not PAY to win"
So is being level 100: That one doesn’t even have any effect on a match at all. Most bizarre example of the bunch.
I has to be otherwise you would simply quit. It is the inability for some people to accept a certain level of disparity that is destroying the game and making it a game of mirror images fighting each other like something from 1980.
You have nothing but tales of disparity and overcoming odds in military history and doing so can be a highlight of a game. I have no issue with it so long as it makes sense which much of the game does not.
The biggest sole issue in this game is the inability of forum members to accept disparity of any kind ,you nailed it.
And a F2P player with high crew skills has a definite advantage over a newbie what then? Same issue ,so should you be forced to lose your crew skills when you drop down below 3 BR? Would you feel aggrieved if it was suggested that you have to?
The games that stand out for me every time and are by far the most fun and memorable are exactly the opposite: ones where it goes down to the wire and the very last few tickets due to being extremely EVENLY matched.
Huge disparity games are the ones where 3 minutes in, one side is crawling all over their enemy’s spawn, and nobody has fun and they go “FFS fix your matchmaking” to their screen and move on hoping it gets better.
No they aren’t, though. Rocks are not “disparity” between teams, being level 100 is not “disparity” (even if one side has more level 100s, it literally doesn’t do anything in game), premiums are not a “disparity” if they’re not any better (or if they are, they should be made not-so), etc.
Sniping is seen on this forum as a disparity. An injustice. Same thing. The expectation that we must all stand out in the open in a big manly heavy tank and duke it out like chest beating males. Somebody camps and gets a kill somebody else feels hard done by.
