Couple things i just wanted to point out about the FV4030/3

Mate not gonna lie I feel the same, Ive swapped back to 8.3 china for some relaxing games rather than grinding for top tier or events, and almost all the APDS and APFSDS is functioning weird af.
Like the LFP of an M60 should not be stopping the type 59 APDS at 400 meters, with no yet it did in game.
BUT i can fire an APHE through the pike on the hull?? which was never able to do before.

had that little italian car the car spaa take the type 69 dart to the side and give me a bounce… ITS A CAR

APDS had a stint there when it felt absolutely blissful, the 120mm apds for the chieftains i love a lot though. But TBH the L15A5 round should be higher penning than the A3 round, so they could in theory remove L23 as 1, it didnt exist and 2 the shir 2 program was discontinued at least 3 years before the first mention of L23 in the sources ive seen.

Realisticall could give the A5 round marginally more pen, 310 flat, and like 175 or 180 60 degree pen and leave it at 9.7

The only issue with that is when it comes up against say, leopard 2 or abrams its gonna be one hell of a stomp…

I do agree with what you say, but I’m mostly concerned about the performance of APDS against composite armour, it loves to shatter against it and especially when faced against vehicles like the T-72A or like mentioned by you, the Leopard 2A4.

The FV4030/3 with L23 so far has absolutely no right being 9.7 but removing it and fixing L15A5 penetration/shattering wise would be a decent solution to keep it at 9.7.

What would be the stock shell if we do remove the L23 then though? The current stock L15A5 after the removal of L23 would automatically become the next best option for 4030/3 players.

see im still running the 15A5 round as i refuse to use the L23, both for hte fact the round is A fabricated and B, like clubbing so im not gonna use it yet.
Ive not had any issues with the T72A or 64A, however the composites on the 64B leo2a4 and 80B have all stumped the round, for such as a breach shot on the T72A seems to work fine, on a T80UD, B or 64B it just doesnt work.

Which is bogus cause before the MBT80 program was launched (then CR1) the chieftain was estimated by MoD to be able to punch throuhg the UFP of a T64 at over 2000 meters. with L15A5 NOT an APFSDS. (as per the bovington tank museums tank chats on the chieftain)

100 percent agree, Im not gonna lie I am properly agitated at how the L15A5 is literally A3 copy paste, its an 8,7 sabot at 9.7. However I do think that this thing is no where near as good as say, leopard 2K which is 10.0, so we will see. I believe its BR will go up with no changes and itll die, facing 11.0s with L23 would be silly too.

Give it historical ammunitions! L15A3 for a stock round, OR the heat round that was sold with the L11 for export only.

TBH that is just the fate of anything British, a few decent players inflate the stats to hell and back, and they just get pushed up, and up, and up.

Same with france, italy, isreal and somewhat japan.

The damn char25t sits at 8.0 for france its bonkers

It’s competitive with other 9.7s and 10.0s, if the Sabra can sit comfortably at 9.7 then so can the Shir II.
In fact i’d rather it get L23A1 for the better angled pen since that is more useful for sniping than flat pen.

Even the absolute best 9.7 arent very fun imo. Those uptiers are awful. I would like more decompression. Like when they made 9.3 fun

T64bv with a better lineup, 3bm42, better protection with only a slower rof and slow reverse speed as downsides

And like I said prior, the T-64BV and T-72A should also move up 1 step as well.

Okay nah, the composite is just busted, the Worst APFSDS the L7 105 gets, which is total junk, punching right through the entire composite array on the front of this thing.

Ofc it does xD

But how? The UFP only has 100mm less composite than the Turret, and the hull has the 80mm rolled plate backer.

Why does the turret have nearly 500mm of Protection against the round, But the hull only around 250mm.

That isn’t how composite works, especially since the composite on the hull is at a way heavier angle.

“gaijin” thats all ill say.

lol no its not

This tank is far better than the Sabra 😂the ONLY thing sabra has better is the round and the FV has plenty to deal with any threat it faces plus it’s basically immune to anything hull down with a much faster reload… last I checked I had nearly 6:1 kd ratio in it, it should be 10.0 for sure

Well now i have spaded it and got a decent K/D i don’t really care if it goes up or not, would be better as a part of a 10.3 lineup if the chally 1 goes down to match

Laughs in huge armor holes around the Gun.

And the turret roof, and the turret ring, and the Sides of the turret which have huge armor gaps.

Oh please 🙄 sounds like a skill issue… if you don’t do extremely well in this tank you won’t do good in any tank. I have several nations researched to the top and pound for pound this might be the most op tank at its br…

Except for yah know… Its built for Hull down Sniping, and those maps don’t exist anymore, the Hull can be penetrated by M735 at range, L23 is inconsistent at best at 9.7, It fights vehicles that heavily out class it, And NEWS FLASH.

Most players aren’t Super Unicums like you.

In most players hands its useless.
