Could we see the R-73m in the dev server?

honestly this could help, aim9m/l have difficulties with sustained turns (they kind of bob back in forth in my experience)

AIM-9R would be impossible to flare in game. It would be an instant 3km death bubble. That is not balanced.

Aren’t there modern flares meant to deal with the more advanced seekers?

They are not in game yet and hardly can be considered reliable.

It has better navigation software and clipped fins. I’ve yet to see anywhere it has a better motor. Feel free to share a source.

Not before the Python 4. No thanks.

Isn’t BOL made with beating the new seekers in mind?

Which it cannot do effectively except in very specific scenarios which will almost never happen.

There are things that have been sitting in the files for years.

I wouldnt say the pl8b is going to 100% be added.

The R-73 is more than enough I was dogfighting my freinds today and if they got it off with me being within 1.5km I was dead no matter how much I flared. It was even able to kill me while I was pre flaring if they got a radar lock. The R-73M would be broken.

The R-73 in game has a 1.0km death bubble and you want to add something with a even larger one…

It’s literally on the J-11B in Dev right now. It just doesn’t have its IRCCM modeled yet. He was referring to the file for the PL-10 which was recently added.

Preflare and it’s not

Yeah if they get a radar lock pre flaring doesn’t matter… it’ll find you no matter what.

Given the what they have done the last few updates, they might remove it.

They are probably going to do what they did with the r73s. Have it in dev, remove it before it goes live, then add it next update.

That’s not the purpose of preflaring. Preflaring works because it sees the flares before the engines once off the rails.

I hope not, the J-11B will have only the PL-8 as its option for an IR missile, which is just a Python 3. That would totally suck.

That’s not how it works. Radar slaving just means telling the seeker to look at that direction, it’s still gonna see the flare

Not in a merge when you’re going 400-500km, .2-.9km anway and they pull the missile so the seeker is out of the fumble limit so it won’t see the flares. Al

Yes but it allows the seeker to only see your plane not the things behind it. Due to it being at the max limit of the gimbal.
