Copypaste/bias is ridiculous

Everything is trolling if you want it to be so, creative interpretation of the rules is the name of the game when it comes to modding around here.

I don’t see how criticizing the game for leaning heavily on copy paste vehicles and re-using the same models as many times as possible whilst keeping new models to a minimum and even delivering premium bomber vehicles without a modeled cockpit and they’re stuck with placeholders because ‘’‘it takes time and money’’ as if that is somehow an excuse as if that isn’t what game development is.

A Ju 288 sells for $30, that is the price for a complete videogame and we’re supposed to be okay with this corner cutting of paying for incomplete models? And it’s not like it needs to be 1:1 accurate, but not even a half assed attempt at making a decent looking cockpit with graphics from this century? For $30?

And sure, maybe you do have to copy paste vehicle, but the most that can be done is to just spend 5 seconds to change the color of it?

Not even adjust the rust patterns? Same boxes, same bags, same tools, same skirts, same cables, same damage, you can copy paste things without it being so blatantly minimal effort.

At least SOMETHING was tried for the Italian M18, even if it’s forcing decals upon players for no good reason that can still be covered up and just forces players to waste their decals slots, at least someone spend at least 2 minutes to change the skirts on it and the mantlet cover.

So how does one get around the fact that Manufactures Copy & Paste machines then export them to multiple countries ?

And you don’t need to get around it, but you can at least make an effort, especially if you’re selling it as a premium.

But sure, I’m just trolling, whatever man.

Was going to happen as the focus shifted to more modern vehicles where nations imported vehicles, especially aircraft.

And I still semi-frequently see requests for East German vehicles like BMPs and T-55s, not to mention sub tree requests like Thailand for Japan, so it’s not like there’s no demand for the copy pasta either.

Staff have explained that a million times now…

For some bomber cockpits it would take something like 6+ months to complete… and for the amount of time players spend in bombers, it is just not worth the R&D and or it is time and effort that can be spent on far more worthwhile content…

So… enough, because that is not what this topic is about… and it has been explained a million times…

More reason to stop claiming unique vehicles like F-16AM are copy-paste when they have new 3D models and require new research to begin with; research BTW takes up most labor hours.

Seek & Destroy: Most unique vehicles went to France: 9.
Soviets got 3 unique vehicles.

Alpha Strike [March 2024]: Most unique vehicles went to USA: 4.
Germany and Soviets got 3.

Air Superiority [December 2023]: Most unique vehicles went to USA : 4.
Soviets, Japan, Israel got 3.

Sky Guardians Soviets tied with Germany and Britain for most unique vehicle additions. June 2023.

The most recent update where Soviets got the most vehicles was New Power from November 2020, almost 4 years ago. 9 vehicles.

Glad you agree with War Thunder’s updates then since not a single update has even gotten nearly half copy-paste.

They’ve changed it after our request/report to match it with most of photos in the Italian service, I remember how I simply used CDK to hide these elements and show how easy it’s to make it a bit different.

Which is good start at least, aside from forcing decals on there.

Remember. Gaijin is Hungarian, not Russian, it even says it on Wikipedia so there can’t be any bias towards the USSR. anyone saying so is wrong and the thread should be shut down for xenophobia or something.

There is no copy paste in military vehicles. It is a variant of a base vehicle and it was in the TOE of a nation so it belongs in there.
In nation that created it and the nations that used it.
This is how technology and military works.

Simpel as that.

So your claim to copy and paste is false.
Also the Copy and paste bullshit came from the leo1 l44 that was unfortunately not named properly as it is the VT1 or VT2 version to test if you can equip the L44 on the cassy. It is a leoaprd 1 porotype.

my last reply was a little poke at the state of this forum but I completely agree with OP. Copy paste vehicles even when they fit the nation they are being copied to, slight modifications or different ammo or whatever, it still sucks and comes across as lazy when so many of the vehicles added the entire time I’ve played this game have been a clone or added into several trees at once. There is a lot of vehicles that arent in the game that are unique to one nations military service that could be added instead.

However at the same time players of a nation would riot if a vehicle built by that nation was only added to another tree, imagine if when the FA18 gets added the US variant wasn’t added. I think gaijin has forgotten the balance that a lot of veteran players speak of today and have gotten complacent with the huge number of vehicles in the game and forget the high standards such a devout playerbase expects, especially with how big of a money printer the game has proven to be

the vehicle thats stirred it up this time is literally the shilka already in the game with the radar cut off the model. its a copy cut and paste job in full

how big is this bridge?

The game is simply riddled with copy paste and becoming hard to play especially in town maps. You can’t tell who is who.
You can’t see what tank the blue letters are referring to when one unit is stacked behind another and I have been killed by an enemy in the same vehicle a number of times in the confusion.
I have been killed thinking the blue letters above the tank I am looking at belong to a that tank only to find they don’t and its an enemy ,the letters were a friendly some way away.

The way copy paste is done is lame and lazy.To say it represents lend lease when we all know it is done to hastily fill gaps in poorly conceived tech trees is taking us all for a mug.

Also copy paste ruins the personality of the individual tree and remember it was Gaijin devs who made those wonderfully distinct tech trees and another clown comes along and just makes them all the same. Why does Gaijin insist on ruining it’s own games?
No wonder the industry is dying.

No its variant of shilka. Also different purpose. One is a anti air the other is a SPG.

Dont complain to gajin complain to the nantions selling there weapons to other nations.

Simpel as.

Invent a time mashine, go back in time and prevent the weapon deal going over the table.
propblem solved.

If its in a nation TOE it belongs in there.

What on earth do you think a shilka with no radar that was used on afghani people is going to be used for in a game with no infantry to shoot at?

Don’t talk rubbish. War Thunder don’t have to fill their game with copy paste because somebody sold tanks to other countries. They can make sensible decisions irrelevant of reality and this game does not adhere to history anyway so what a stupid comment.

Sim is an actual joke sometimes as there are perishing and fireflies on both teams whenever I play. I imagine its even worse at top tier trying to remember which version of the T80U or Leopard is in what countries tree. Copy pasted vehicles do get slightly limited but if it was as limited as needed then the entire Chinese and Israeli trees (up to 10,3) would be banned.

War thunder would be in a far better spot if copy paste heavy nations were secondary trees of major nations because of this disaster

I simply refuse to play SIM while it has copy paste mixed with team kill bans. Why would I want to risk it?

Players: Italy needs a new top tier SPAA, since the OTOMATIC is barely good enough for 10.7 let alone 11.3/11.7.
Gaijin: How about we add a Russian SPAA rather than a domestic design so we can copy-paste it into the German and Russian tech trees too?

You see how even with exports, Gaijin taking the copy-paste route is still lazy?
