Copy paste over making a tech tree unique

instead of making a nation more unique and interesting to play you add the stuff that is already in game, even removing the interesting vehicles to replace them. the only good copy paste vehicles in my opinion are captured ones (like T-V, kw-1) and the ones that were actually a bit different than the original ones (strvs, magachs).
what if instead of finding excuses to add copy paste to make better lineups, you actually looked for vehicles to add

Copy Paste is just something that will happen, not all TT’s have vehicles that can fill certain roles thus have to resort to copy paste vehicles

an example would be Sweden, they have zero heavies, thus they added the KV-1 and Tiger 2P

Well its the wrong time to complain, top tier will just be copy paste with a slight upgrade avionics.

TV and KW-1 aren’t copy-paste.

Unique vehicles will always be added, and for the time being unique vehicles out-number copy-paste in additions substantially.

Last major update, out of 45 vehicles added, 6 were copy-paste which includes 2 of the 3 Typhoons.

when the rank goes up the copy & paste will be more and more common, bc irl there’re less and less countries able to develop advanced domestic vehicels.
u will see many F35s at euro nations in the future, like f16 currently.

example please?

War Thunder official Q&A, timestamped to 7:51 :

r2y replaced by f84

The R2Y2 planes practically never existed IRL and were only added as placeholders until planes that actually existed in real life could be added instead.

yeah cause they didnt exist, its not really the same as getting replaced, it just got removed when something else that could be a valid substitute was added

Copy paste is useful and especially since we have Mixed Machmakers all the time there’s no point in denying it

It is completely impossible for a nation that dominates one side of the globe to sell its equipment to smaller nations that are unable to compete with it, thereby turning them into allies.

A new nation without American, Russian, or Chinese-made vehicles is simply impossible. It must be content with the same vehicles being added with more robust or lighter versions geared toward the terrain of each region of some other nation.

i cant understand the problem of copy and paste (exept when they are captured that i dont like them) the countries that operate a vechicle and cant make their own cant have them in game?? why??? is Gaijin faults that Germany have sell Leopards 2 in almost 20 countries or Russia selling the T80s in many countries?? also its realistic to fase off tanks from the country you are playing like Leo 2 vs Leo 2 or T90s vs T90s ets., also its not a big deal as you said for the developers to add the copy paste tanks as they already exist in game and they just do it thay dont spent much time from modeling new unique tanks or airplanes

when???

Japan Lost 2 Never Built Paper Prototype aircrafts and they got replaced by Thai and Malaysian Sub tree aircraft

3 planes and they werent replaced and they didnt even exist we arent WoT

What they need to do when adding copy paste vehicles, is add unique variants alongside them. They can claim they add unique vehicles alongside copy paste all they want, if you look at what has actually happened, at least for ground, that is just blatantly false. When they copy pasted M44, did they also add other low rank SPG’s? No, they didn’t. What about M55? No, they didn’t. Even if it isn’t of the same caliber, add something unique. Hummel and Palmaria shouldn’t even be on the 2026 decal, because they should have been added along side the copy paste SPH/SPG in the past (M109, M44, M55).

I’m also sick of them adding a vehicle, and said vehicle has minor upgrades in the form of another variant, but not adding that second variant in the same update (or seemingly ever), just so they can drag out additions and I’m sure meet some internal quotas. For example, the Sheridan. The Sheridan has a couple different variants, we have the M551, but there is also the M551A1 TTS. The TTS adds a LRF and thermals, and if you have played the Sheridan, you know it would greatly benefit from such features. The M551 we have was added almost TEN YEARS ago and we can’t even get the TTS upgrade in 10 years?

be patient little waffle

developing vehicles for the game takes time and the simple fact that we saw 2 SPGs in the 26 decal already shows us that they’re working on more of them

it’s not as simple as “just” adding 10 completely diffrent SPGs to each nation that got M44 and M55, the alternative would’ve been that all of those nations got nothing at the time

it’s zhe Year of zhe Hummel in very few days ! get hopeful and patient

Yes, I am glad to see that they are adding 2 more spg’s, especially since they are unique to the tree’s which they belong to. However, their claim that they add unique vehicles alongside copy and paste vehicles, is false. If this was the case, vehicles like the Palmaria and Hummel wouldn’t need to be looked forward too, because they would have already been getting played.
