As shown in the image above. Console players can keep an air lock on air targets thru terrain even at top tier where missile launching thru objects and terrain is only available to them even with a keyboard. While I understand it is necessary to give console players some leeway. Allowing them to keep this ability when getting access to a keyboard is something that should not be allowed. Many games remove handicaps from console players as soon as they have access to a keyboard and mouse like PC players. This air targeting function should be removed from their access as soon as a keyboard is detected or used.
Honestly, I think console players should be able to turn Crossplay off and still be able to play Sim and Realistic.
You know it’s just a marker and doesn’t track right? Least not in RB. They still have to aim manually. This mechanic got nerfed pretty big in the last 6 months too. The strength of it has been reduced. You used to be able to just look at the floor, press the key bind and it wouldn’t find any plane In the air, irrespective of their position. Now you kind of need a LOS to them or have them in your FOV for it to work. It will still keep the marker through limited terrain but not all like it used to
Yea I do agree with you but as an actual console player with no M/K I have to explain that the tracker you showing is mostly useless I myself have other more important hotkeys in its place . The Actual problem players using it like you think get a file mod to show them as a console while they are not really and they use a couple other file mods which we wont talk about so they dont get reported for what they are doing because most people just see herr derr consoler has I win button while its nothing like that for a con player and even a M\K player thats being honest
That’s the scouting feature seen on light tanks, not a lock feature.
No, it’s a console feature. We are able to maintain a lock on a plane. It’s how I preform SPAA work: turn off radar, spam the sky with my lick button until I lock on a plane, and fire a missile.
what is this setting so that I make sure not to exploit it?
It’s not an exploit. Think of it like aim assist. Except that you can only use it if you’re a ground vehicle locking onto a plane.
The image above literally shows the player tracking thru the ground. Not sure what nerf you are referring too but its not the same way you think.
Buddy look at the yellow circle and realize the photo is him looking thru the map.
Yeah except only console players get it, and they can use it even with a keyboard and mouse plugged in
Ever played on console before? Not exactly great compared to PC. Plus PC players get to use cheats, what’s the best console can do? Oh yeah, mod Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox 360.
Not really, no. the highlight is still on the target, but the player cannot maintain a weapon or sight hard lock on the target. Additionally, that highlight will cut off in the next 3-5 seconds due to the target moving behind hard cover. I’ll also add that it doesn’t work for targets within clouds.
The air target lock is nowhere near as potent as you think. Naturally though, the PC players remain ignorant and make assumptions about it rather than asking questions.
I wish PC players could turn off crossplay too. I would be content with them removing all console autoaim/walltracking though, don’t think it’s much to ask.
The reticle isn’t on the yellow circle.
And I was commenting on the yellow arrow.
@Im_with_top_frag
Walltracking is not a thing.
It certainly use to be, if they fixed it great.
Yeah now it will keep the marker on through some ground obstacles and foliage, where as before it didn’t care what was there and would keep the marker through absolutely anything and everything. Now it will disappear if there’s too much blocking your LOS, not sure what the threshold is though. Also before you could be looking anywhere, hit the button and a marker and call out would hit the closest thing to you in the air no matter where it was. Now you need to kinda be able to see it or be looking somewhat in its direction
There aren’t simply enough console players to play by themselves…
Also a bit odd that PC players that have many more advantages and usually get MUCH better results are asking for this…in case you not aware, crossplay with consoles INCREASES the number of kills by PC players…
On those rare occasions i get a console only game i usually do MUCH better…and i see my opponents miss a lot more…
The “feature” mentioned on this topic is mostly useless in practice…
Well, I still think the game should be opened up for strictly console players. At the moment, we can only play arcade by ourselves. At the very least, we should be able to play Sim by ourselves as well.
no we can but only in certain conditions
