Console players should lose this "air autolock" ability in GRB if they plug in a keyboard and mouse

I find it useful, but might just be me

and I can confirm this is sadly correct

We can what?

we as in console players (I am one) we can track planes automatically unless they fly behind a mountain or buildings (you still can see where they are but cant follow them anymore)

What game mode are you playing?
I am also on Xbox. Playing RB, when I press the bind to get that marker, it does not track the target (ie the guns don’t aim and follow it) I have to track and aim manually. But the marker will stay on the target, highlighting its position and you can then interpret direction of travel a bit easier from that

bruh… use keybind then hold own the left trigger (if you haven’t changed it to do something else)… you been doing it wrong. the keybind is just for selecting the target

I changed my controls pretty immediately so don’t have the l2 to be bound. I thought that only worked in AB, had this conversation with GhostSoph before. L2 fires secondaries/ machine guns for me

works in Arcade and realistic (RB it only works on planes and helicopters though)

that would mess it up

If you know, what’s the key bind called? If I get chance to get on tonight I’ll have a look into it, but I’ve learnt to aim at planes without using it now

I took it off because if I remember correctly L2 also did zoom? So I’d be aiming at a ground target and it would start tracking a plane if zoomed. This was when I was super new to the game and didn’t really know what was going on, I thought I might have still been playing AB then but not sure

it does zoom in as well thats a part of it, when you have a target selected it would zoom in on the target while you track them but unlike the regular zoom button it only zooms in while you held it down

I know it’s only supposed to track air targets, but I have watched replays of them using on tanks too, I assume that’s either an exploit or hack (I have heard that activating the arcade tracking in RB was a thing for a while as well). Is it still correct that its usable in air and can crank you nose around at high AOA? I’m genuinely curious how strong it is, most console players I mention it to deny the tracking even exists.

Pc players should be able to turn crossplay off you mean. Would greatly improve the team experience

In Arcade battles, you can track your enemy in tanks. But in Realistic? I can’t imagine any exploits or cheats for that. Then again, I don’t go out of my way to research hacks.

Nah, console players. I’d rather play Realistic with only Xbox players. I’ll take the extra minute in queue than deal with PCheaters.

Yes and No, because while the camera may want to track your target like it’s done some lines the aircraft naturally will only follow as well as it can within its own limitations. Additionally, PC players also have the same target lock binding - They’re actually not the same thing functionally - for dogfighting so when it comes to air it’s not mutually exclusive.

win-win situation. Finally some long needed segregation

I still have some clips somewhere from back when i was on xbox of me hitting people sitting on their helipad through entire forests. Fun times even though it did feel abit dirty…but hey gaijin added it as a mechanic so why not take advantage of it.

We had segregation, until Fortnite ruined it. Yes, it was fun playing together while it lasted. But PC players killed gaming for console players. And no doubt you lot feel the same about us.

Games have become rushed and they are implemented in wrongly because of the difference of how PC runs games and how consoles run games (FPS and whatever).
Constant updates to fix a bug that is on PC, which leads to crashes on Xbox. And then when that’s fix, another bug comes out on PC, and repeat.
PC games being less optimised because we cannot handle graphics meant for PC
The influx of cheats the comes from PC

I could continue, but as I said. It is best that we recognise that we are gamers, but I bought my Xbox, which means I want to play Xbox. It was nice being your friend, but we are different, and we have different consoles for a reason.

corect thats only possible in arcade in realistic it ONLY works on aircraft and helicopters

kinda not at a high AOA but it does work in air most of the time (it bugs out on occasion)

really? It does exist and I use it, one of the few advantages I have as a console player

I think we need to set some definitions about what we’re referring to. Anyone able to load up the game and see what these controls are called officially?

target lock and target tracking iirc
