well it is.

This was sarcasm. I have no doubt that you have gotten a kill before.

I understand your feelings. But I doubt that this is the right place for it. I rage often about other players. But there is only one place where I go mad about it … my house.
This place is a room for discussion. But what should be discussed? That there are bad players and good players?
That there are players that don’t care or don’t want to improve? I learned many things in the last 145 days playing this game.
Yes there are really bad players. This one battle in which we meet is only a snapshot of an individual’s performance. Sure go and take a look into the stats. I do it too. But all you will find is also only a snapshot of what the player was able to achieve so far. And it will only confirm what you want to see. Our brains work like that. They tend to see only the negative. We need to work hard on that to come out more positive. And let me try to give you another point of view.
Many new players joined WT and that is good. It keeps the game alive. And they have really many many things to learn. If stop thinking they are bad and start thinking that they need more time to get better everythings turns slightly better.
You cannot change those players. The only thing you can change is your point of view and how you react on those players.
I can tell you what most people tend to see in your posting.
Arrogance. That doesn’t mean you’re arrogant. It’s just that that’s exactly what people see. Like what you see in the other players.

If somethings is unclear feel free to ask and I try to explain it better so we can sort things out without fighting each other.

I understand what your saying for sure.
But in terms of arrogance, its not my intention, if i was to be arrogant i would post my lgood leaderboards with 10+ kills etc and shaming those who did not achieve such, whereas in this case, i refer to only a single kill, hardly anything to be proud of or brag worthy.
Nonetheless i see your point.
I just feel people would rather argue than acknowledge, my post was not a personal attack.

There has been the occasion I haven’t. I doubt I was much fun for my teammates on that occasion. I am sure they were cursing me.

I would imagine my flying skills using CAS have brought about moments of hilarity as well. Like George of the Jungle sweeping in.

I had a game a couple of nights ago where I got six or seven at 6BR, went to the shop came back two hours later and couldn’t hit a damn thing. I guess I peaked too early. The magic had left me.

Looks depressingly normal to me.

Thats reality of teams in this game.

happens to everyone at some point and a few people every match.
But over half the team? thats crazy.

Well, the Asian guys got 8 each so somebody is happy.

This is just amazing topic to read.
Some people really put lots of weight to enemy having 4 man squad that really didn’t do anything special.
Like wow! Two of them had 5 kills. Also I face tons of 4 man squads and 9/10 cases they are nothing special and don’t have any huge impact to match.
Also I have to say Ham is correct that some players are just bad. I have played ton of Tier I-II last weeks and really it isn’t anything different from tier III-VII. 50-60% players don’t change their playstyle away from tier I “Push W key until you’re in the middle of map and die.” You can go to any match at any tier and ton of people seems to have just W key glued on or off.

Says more about how dull the maps and and the gameplay is.Many of the good veterans left.

It’s a lost cause. After 11 years we have a completely new generation of players who’ve grown up in an era of user interfaces that hold their hands. Games with regenerating health and x-ray vision.

We’re literally in the situation now where the concept of looking left/right is simply beyond so many that complaints have led to the narrowing of maps to reduce this overwhelmingly complex task. Hills are being flattened or blocked off.

It’s a death spiral to cater to this crowd as instead of being pushed to to learn and improve, they’re emboldened and want magic spawn forts to hide in all game. Any suggestion that people make use of the broad range of tools the game provides to deal with CAS is triggering. They cover their ears and scream. If looking left/right is too hard then looking up is simply unimaginable.

You’re right. There is nothing to say against that. I still remember the time when I played Tomb Raider in 1996 the first time. A game like this would have no chance today.
We cannot make up for years of failed education in schools and at home. So what is left? Maybe it sounds a bit harsh but I left my homecountry because of this idiocracy in the society. Now I live in a village N63° and found a really wonderful new world of kind people that are not that dumb.
But I don’t want to leave WT behind. Because I really like it for what it is. And this is maybe the main problem of most players. Many players put a real effort into this game and want to have fun in their special kind of way.
So I can only hope for that there are more players out there who wanna try to give their best and don’t run into the Dunning-Krüger-Effect.

Amen to that!

The real match starts when these tools leave the match.

That did make me smile. Like you say who misses these clowns? Same with ODL, let them go. More action for the real men :)

How well or poorly a team does, depends also on the opposition they face.

The WT matchmaker puts squads against squads for a reason: they are devastating. Because you guys were in a 3-man squad, the matchmaker pitted you against a 4-man squad. The expectation in these situations is that the squads, by virtue of being much more coordinated, will do the heavy lifting, on both sides. Their 4-man squad did, and decimated your team.

3- and 4-man squads have extra responsibility to their teams, a bit like guys in full downtier do. They have extra responsibility, not just because they can do so much more than someone playing solo, but because they guarantee the presence of a similar squad on the enemy side.

A sample size of one is useless in any case. Your team mates had a bad match and there are many possible reasons, some no doubt are genuinely bad, others were having a bad day or even just a bad single match for whatever reason, others maybe were playing okay but went up to the 4-man squad and got annihilated before they could do anything to earn more SP.

Point is, it doesn’t prove anything about the wider playerbase. It only proves that those individuals had a bad match.

Good point with squad responsibility. Got yesterday a match Germany 7.7. I took my Wiesel out and did my basic scouting thing. I came over one of the squad members and was able to take him out. The whole squad now turned away from the objectives and hunted me. They got a good advantage in the match because we lost all caps. But their hunt turned the situation around and they went mad. All spawned into planes and tried to spawncamp. Bad idea … I was prepared. Again they tried to hunt me down. They totally ignored all around them and they lost hard.
Lesson? Emotions are a bad companion in battle. Stay calm (I know how hard it is) and keep your head down is the best learning I got from this.

He has a point though. Players in WarThunder are some of the dumbest I’ve ever seen.

This is so true, power of squads is often ignored, especially those full squads in voice chat. They are really coordinated and can easily storm one part of the map, even more so at higher BRs.

At those higher BRs, one player can serve as a support and spawn a light vehicle with scout drone, practically cosplaying as a wallhack for the rest of his team. By doing this, they can identify and exploit weaknesses in enemy lines, pushing and flanking with great efficiency.
I almost forgot, identifying enemies before hand gives yet another layer of advantage to his squadmates.

This is why, at least in my opinion, scout drones are brokenly OP when properly used.

I also spawned BT-5 once in a WW2 game and killed two Bulldogs and a Waffentrager IIRC.
But I never thought that I’m an amazing player, BT-5 is a crazily OP tank or anything just because of that one play/match.

My guess is that people are more upset about the post because it looks like “Hey look how dumb they are but I’m better”
I started my day with 3 losses in a row where I also didn’t performed due to the fact that after 3min the battle was over. I think talking about the quality of players is one thing … doing it that way is maybe questionable.
