Combined Arms Enduring Confrontation

Whats the scale of the map?

sincerely, i dont know, but just know each grid is 13100m so yeah, artillery is useless unless you get a spg and start writing on a paper

so its almost 84x84, good work keep going

If this became a true game mode Gaijin would have to work on the graphics a lot. Nothing too much but people do value graphics a lot.

Im more worried if Gaijin servers can handle it.

They can they might have to buy a few more racks and run them on a dedicated server but its not complex. Other games have this but they have a dedicated server and people enjoy it.

actually no (except of course if they let you change the graphics dramatically) because a lot of us are computers/laptops are quite bad and for huge maps to work the game will crash more often

I mean so there is grass and the trees are not 2d even on potato mode the trees are not 2d for ground.

Some slight improvements

hey, the graphics are not my fault, but look at the bright side, hella fps

plus you can just put on movie graphics and be fine considering how trash the air map textures already are

never stated they where Gaijin would need to do some optimization as objects like trees / tall grass are a way to balance vehicles. Otherwise tank (in there natural habitat) will snipe across the map with ease. We would also need to factor in a wind system as long range wind and atmospheric effects will cause shells to not be a death laser. Also the systems that try to counteract these atmospheric effects. (FYI normal matches this wont cause much issues as a city knife fight is way to close to matter)

AFAIK the fastest muzzle velocity sabot round in-game is 1980 m/s for the 152mm APFSDS shell to the LP-83 on the Object 292, with most other APFSDS shells being in the ballpark of 1500-1800 m/s.
Even at those speeds, NOT taking in to account friction and air drag effects, a rod is taking 5-12 seconds from shot to impact across the largest air map grid according to the list I posted earlier. More than enough time for the player being shot at to move, change elevation, or turn out of the way even by pure happenstance.

In fact the current gameplay for tanks is already [spotted - killed] before you even realize what is happening, due to the amount of places you have to be looking and the abysmally short distances in current ‘maps’ for ground vehicles. Artificial chokeholds, vantage points, indestructible defensive corners, these are issues with the short range TDM maps currently in action. With this proposal instead of being forced to approach from a single, well known route or angle sweep, you can bypass and hit from a completely different sector and sweep out anything where you were getting hit from originally.

i can certainly add alot of atmospheric effects why not? but good luck aiming, WT doesnt have all that fancy FCS that real tanks give you today, its very primitive

True (you don’t have to add in improved atmospherics) It was a argument for if it was a official mode. As we get modes like this Gaijin would need to add in modern fire control systems which a while back they dipped into. (laser range finders would not update your guns elevation before you had to) Though fire control is a complex and very secrete thing so maybe Gaijin has little information on it like maximum tracking or other needed information.

A lot of modern tank FCS are pretty well documented barring the extremely recent updates/redesigns or one-off obscure systems. I would say that most of the unique functions for FCS start showing up for vehicles made between the mid-60s to the late-80s, with everything turning into subtly different but similar functions after the 80s barring the British. Because, ya know, British.

Progress is in progress for the test mission. Managing to make everything sync, but I must be missing a step to have selectable spawns somehow. Still, getting somewhere!

Go check if capturing a zone doesnt make a team win immediately

So far there hasn’t been an issue with that on my work. Did you set your mission score limit too low?

i think so
oh btw, when can we both run some tests on your map?

yea i hope he uploads it in wtlive. i want to test it in my terrible laptop

nah, no uploading to wtlive, private testing
