Has a very limited CAS load due to the need to buddy lase most munitions (exception to this being Walleyes)
Would probably sit perfectly at 12.7 or 12.3 depending on how the FM performs
I’m guessing this will be skipped in favor of the F/A-18C for now, and the A can fit as literally any of: TT vehicle, Premium vehicle, or Squadron vehicle
F/A-18A+
Two major ways the A+ can be represented in WT
The first way is as a worse F/A-18C - receiving 9Ms, 120As, and having worse engines
The second way is as a better F/A-18A - receiving 9Ms, 7M/Ps, having more AtA pylons, and having better CAS loads
The first way (worse C) would probably be 13.3 or 13.7 and would make a good Squadron Vehicle like the JF-17.
The second way (better A) would probably be 13.0 and would fit well in the TT or as a premium vehicle.
F/A-18C
More than likely receiving 9Ms, 120As, and much better AtG weaponry
Iconic 10x AIM-120 loadout
Possible additions of the AGM-88 HARM and AGM-84E SLAM
Will more than likely sit at 13.7 in the TT
F/A-18E/F Super Hornets
In my opinion it’s too early to tell when the Super Hornet(s) will come to the game. The F/A-18E/F are not too good to come to the game (they’d be worse than the EF and Rafale), but the A/A+/C all fill niches where the E/F would not be required. The Super Hornet(s) will more than likely simply be the first AESA radar platform for the USA, likely bringing AIM-120C-5s and AIM-9Xs with it. We should not expect the Super Hornet(s) very soon because they can be represented better at a later date.
EA-18G Growler
See above. Maybe the Growler will come with the advent of ECM being added to WT, but until that happens I wouldn’t expect it.
Who will receive what?
USA (guaranteed) - Pretty much all of them aside from maybe some Canadian/Australian Hornets, but we’ll have to see what Gaijin wants to do with those.
Germany/Switzerland (possible) - gszabbi99’s leak list has predicted the Swiss F/A-18C for a long time, so we may end up seeing it at some point. Since Germany got the EF there’s not a huge demand for it anymore, but it’s still possible.
Britain/Canada/Australia (possible) - Another possible entry but not guaranteed for sure. While it would be cool to see the Canadian CF-188 or the Australian F/A-18A/F, we will have to wait and see how Gaijin feels about adding them.
Sweden/Finland (guaranteed) - We know for a fact that the Finnish line in the Swedish TT has a slot missing after the MiG-21bis. That’s 100% for the F-18C. Whether Gaijin decides to add the F-18C without AtG ordinance or the F/A-18C with AtG ordinance is up for debate/discussion.
Italy/Spain (unlikely for now) - While Spain did operate the F/A-18A+, I doubt we will see it come to Italy for a long time. I would either expect it to come as a Squadron Vehicle or in the TT as a subtree, but that is by no means confirmed for now. Do not expect this at all for the time being.
Will this functionality be added to the in-vehicle minimap (not the respawn screen)? Currently, for ground vehicles, if you want to switch between the ground map and air map, or to change the map center, you have to go into the respawn screen and change it from there.
theres also USMC F18C with aesa, which i think will be the first presence of AESA in US tech tree. Also Austrialian hornets would be interesting due to them carrying asraams and python 5s, so would be a good and interesting aircraft for the future
I’d definitely love to see a USMC F/A-18C+, that would more than likely be the best Hornet in the game. Combining the AESA radar upgrade and the high TWR (relative to the Super Hornets), and it should prove to be extremely useful.
That and/or the F/A-18D would make good additions after the AV-8B+ in my opinion, both of which could be followed by the EA-18G Growler.
I honestly don’t get it. They make the player card more simplistic looking but the game is not simplistic at all. Just look at the new stat cards, they are loaded with information, but player profiles with lots of information? Nah thats not allowed
I’d love to see one of the returning Monthly Decals be the ‘Sakura’ Emblem of the 7th Sensha Rentai. I missed it the first time around, so a chance to unlock it again would be amazing!
I do have to wonder though - the decals always used to be unlockable with Rank II and above, but now they’re Rank III and above. Is there any chance that could be reverted?
Reread what I said. I said the Super Hornet would not be too good to come to the game. That means that its capabilities are well within reason relative to what we already have. Hence why I said it would be worse than the Eurofighter and Rafale.
I never said it cannot come to the game because it’s too bad. What I meant was whether the Super Hornet will be delayed to get better weaponry or not is up to Gaijin.
As it stands, the E/F Hornets are not a major upgrade over what the F/A-18C will be. The F/A-18C will more than likely come with JHMCS, the AN/APG-73, AIM-9Ms, and AIM-120A/Bs. The Super Hornet would come with the exact same loadout and still have a worse TWR while only gaining 2 more missiles and an AESA radar. If it were to come with new missiles like the AIM-9X-1 and the AIM-120C-5 it would be a much better upgrade.
Really disappointed that the recycling just gets another random item. Bad enough that the most useful items, the boosters, have a time limit to activate them. But now when we get the chance to get rid of stuff we don’t enjoy, like orders and wagers which just aren’t fun, it’s just another random dice roll? Just let us select what we wanna recycle it into, I’d settle for getting a random booster over potentially getting another wager or order I’ll never use because they’re just not enjoyable.
I appreciate the QOL improvements, and love the extra information displayed on the muntions statcards like what’s shown for the tandem/heat munitions.
Now to make the plane statcards actually useful instead of having a turn time and climb rate that are completely wrong on most planes. I’d love to see some form of AOA/alpha on statcards too since there are plenty of planes that trade turn rate for high AOA.
AND FIX THE MIG-29/SU-27!!!
If the devs are fine with guesstimating the flight characteristics of the euro canards from air show footage, then surely they can compile HUD and airshow footage out there for these almost 40 year old planes that can be bought by civilians in the U.S. and realize just how badly they’re underperfoming
Similar to AIM-9X Blk 2, PL-10, R-74M2 and Python 5
The equivalent to AIM-132 Blk 6, AAM-5B and AIM-2000 (digital interface) but better AIM-9X (Blk 1), AAM-5 and R-74M
Personally, gajin might not problem add AIM-2000 (analog interface) on EF-2000, F-2000A & Gripen C because analog version lack datalink and LOAL capabilities
