Because Chinese vehicles kind of suck? I don’t know what else to tell you they are largely aircraft based off of other countries designs with some creative liberties on them when they couldn’t fully figure out or reverse engineer something.

I see a lot of pointless arguments here regarding what playstyle should be played with the aircraft. However, I do believe that the J15T does need fixes, especially for the PL12A. As of right now it feels like a copy and paste PL12 with the benefit of it having a longer battery time (which wont matter if you are shooting at 40km+). Its not a bad plane, I just hope it receives these fixes. :))
PS this was accepted a while ago. Not sure if gaijin will take this into the bin or actual consideration.

You’re not going to avoid an AIM-54. Or any launch from above. You can’t do it in varied terrain. Even on flat terrain, have fun with the 60m tall trees. Max multipath height is 60m ralt, the optimal height for distance from missile’s targeting to your plane is 30m. Any higher or lower, and this distance shrinks. Below 15m, any ARH will proxy you; near 60, the multipath effect goes asymptotically to nothing. Constantly stay below 60m, but there are a few bumps on the ground? Chances are that your ralt, and therefore missile’s aim point, will go lower than 15m a second below impact, and instead of escaping, you get a missile straight to the forehead.
But yes, multipathing is OP.

I think you’ll just have to wait until ECM and other jamming systems are added.
The J-15T situation is part of not just Gaijin’s poor and out of touch decisions when it comes to game balance but also when it comes to vehicle additions, choosing to add whatever they may find because it can be added rather than taking into consideration its future performance and player reception.
As I said before, Gaijin so far has been pretty adamant in adding potentially good aircraft with hampered or incomplete avionic suites, my favorite example of this (and those who might have seen me in the forums before already know) is the Kfir C.10 Block 60, and as I mentioned before, the J-15T has become the new victim of this issue.
Personally, I would recommend you to maximize the fun value rather than sticking to the grind for the sake of grinding since there’s really not much you can do with the current amount of CM’s to the point I’d just recommend not touching the J-15T and J-10C, and instead playing the better BR placed J-10A and J-11B in my opinion.
When it comes to gameplay tips, I guess just, good luck…? I’m mostly a sim player these days and I don’t really see any way you might cope or succeed with the J-15T unless you abuse terrain, now of course, you can defeat the missiles kinematically and use your chaff very conservatively, making use of your own intuition and skill, however, as I mentioned before, there is a point in which the disadvantage you’re at makes it miserable rather than an interesting challenge.

At which point it would also face aircraft with ECM. Which wouldnt necessarily change the balance of power much.

Yep, defended against an Su-30SM2 spamming 7 R-77-1s at me earlier today, and that was with BOL.
No idea how I managed it though :D
If anything, it might become even worse relatively to others due to lack of sources for Chinese ECM while everyone else submits tons of bug reports. Kind of a be careful what you ask for situation.

Its definetly possible. Or Gaijin just turns around and goes “this is ECM, we arent accepting bug reports for it” and standardise it for everyone
In essence what CMs look like, all based upon soviet standard and large CMs (minus of course BOL which is just a total work of fiction)

They can standardize a lot of things for everyone, but I would wager that things like whether or not the ECM is mechanical or AESA or ECM coverage would be accepted just like they are for radars.

For all we know, we’ll have Rafale and Typhoons having to face off against J-20s long before we even see ECM added at which point, it might not matter

There’s just a lack of sources on chinese equipment in general. Hence the reason why export conferences are so heavily relied on and where the pl12A came from. I couldn’t find any source on the J-15T loadout since China likes to use the media to share information. No primary sources at all. I even had to dig through official chinese aviation companys’ WeChat to see what they post.

Yes, which makes it a bit confusing why people are clamoring for ECM to be added, which is just another mechanic that could leave people without sources suffering.
That’s not the point; Chinese vehicles (mainland China) are good, it’s the foreigners who ruin them with questionable decisions.
Why add vehicles like this? These are vehicles that depend on ECM (Electronic Control Module). Why add them if the ECM mechanics aren’t there, or without additional countermeasures as a temporary solution until the ECM is implemented?
Instead of adding the j15T, why not add the j11BG or the j16, or even the j11D prototype as a more viable option until the ECM implementation?
Every patch is like this, but with Chinese vehicles it’s the same problem.
Gaijin hates China and Israel always makes the worst possible additions at the worst possible timing, when they don’t boycott them.

The game needs to be balanced as well; it’s not just about being realistic. Eventually, the game needs balancing; you can’t play it like this.
There are several things in this game that aren’t realistic, like the F16J, the Su30SM2 with an AL of 41, the Su27SM with double pylons, tank prototypes that will never see action, among many other examples. Realism can’t be a wild card you summon when it suits you.
