I think at this point the main problem at this point is that there’s no clear direction when it comes to capabilities.
I sometimes still feel the same way as when I first started playing, not really knowing what the hell the future of the game or the mechanics are there for, you know?
Like, the Eurofighter and Rafales got their HMD Data Link, does that mean it will become a main feature for other HMD systems like the Targo II (Also known as JHMCS II) or JHMCS? Not really. Is there proof of it? Yes, will it be added? As always, these questions are unanswered.
We’ve seen things such as IRCCM implemented in-game, but we haven’t really moved forward from seeker shut-off and FOV, we have the PL-5EII that (allegedly, I can’t really confirm since Chinese equipment isn’t my specialty) have a dual-band capable seeker. It’s 2026 and the missile families don’t move forward for ANY NATION.
MFD pages have been “overhauled” (I have my many gripes with the additions) to the point where it almost feels like real aircraft you’re flying, however some aircraft STILL haven’t been updated or accurately modeled according to IRL footage or even documents.
Cockpits have taken a massive step-up when it comes to the modeling, however there are still some that are missing details, text, labels and sometimes they’re even referenced from the wrong aircraft.
The main problem that I’m trying to hint at is that for years, Gaijin has just been adding half-baked features, vehicles and mechanics, and we’ve all eaten it up as if it were standard, and to top it all off, even if you report it (assuming you use good material) there’s still chance either your sources are denied for consideration for arbitrary or nonsensical reason, or it gets sent into the “accepted” pile to where it will sit from a week, a few months or even years in the worst of cases.
And the most infuriating part of this last point regarding your sources, is that Gaijin themselves seems like they don’t do deep research and just take surface-web information and call it a day which is also another contributing factor.
