China does not possess a single competitive vehicle above 14.0

I think at this point the main problem at this point is that there’s no clear direction when it comes to capabilities.

I sometimes still feel the same way as when I first started playing, not really knowing what the hell the future of the game or the mechanics are there for, you know?

Like, the Eurofighter and Rafales got their HMD Data Link, does that mean it will become a main feature for other HMD systems like the Targo II (Also known as JHMCS II) or JHMCS? Not really. Is there proof of it? Yes, will it be added? As always, these questions are unanswered.

We’ve seen things such as IRCCM implemented in-game, but we haven’t really moved forward from seeker shut-off and FOV, we have the PL-5EII that (allegedly, I can’t really confirm since Chinese equipment isn’t my specialty) have a dual-band capable seeker. It’s 2026 and the missile families don’t move forward for ANY NATION.

MFD pages have been “overhauled” (I have my many gripes with the additions) to the point where it almost feels like real aircraft you’re flying, however some aircraft STILL haven’t been updated or accurately modeled according to IRL footage or even documents.

Cockpits have taken a massive step-up when it comes to the modeling, however there are still some that are missing details, text, labels and sometimes they’re even referenced from the wrong aircraft.

The main problem that I’m trying to hint at is that for years, Gaijin has just been adding half-baked features, vehicles and mechanics, and we’ve all eaten it up as if it were standard, and to top it all off, even if you report it (assuming you use good material) there’s still chance either your sources are denied for consideration for arbitrary or nonsensical reason, or it gets sent into the “accepted” pile to where it will sit from a week, a few months or even years in the worst of cases.

And the most infuriating part of this last point regarding your sources, is that Gaijin themselves seems like they don’t do deep research and just take surface-web information and call it a day which is also another contributing factor.

so you could watch some videos from the china airshow 2024 they showed the aircraft if you understand chinese try to find evidence ai said but that could be wrong i just needed a quick answer that it can have 4 26mm flare and chaff pods in one 50mm pod

this would give it 192 flare and chaff and thats enough

Sometimes it seems like they don’t even do internet research, they just choose sources in a completely arbitrary way, as you said.
just as they arbitrarily choose when they will take a “realistic” or balanced approach to the game.
I have 7 nations in the top tier, heading towards 8 nations.
None are as frustrating to play as Israel and China.
Every patch is always the same story.

Israel is still a minor nation and always will be. China has the added problem that it should be a main nation, but it receives completely terrible treatment within the game.
Gaijin always had their favorite children, like Japan and Russia.
Has children that Gaijin likes a little, like England and Sweden
has children that Gaijin is indifferent to, like US
There are children that Gaijin doesn’t like, like Italy, Germany and France.
But without a doubt, Israel and China are the children that Gaijin hates.

I have grinded 8 nations to top tier air, except italy (mostly copy paste) and sweden. I mostly agree with you.

Although every nation, including china and israel has or had some very strong vehicles. Remember how long the Ayit ruled 9.3, for example?

Where I notice more issues in a game balance POV is in britain but that’s also because it has many vehicles on top of not being a “favourable” nation if you catch my drift.

The more mediocre nation overall is the US, you don’t have as many vehicles in precarious situations like some others but you rarely get anything OP or even strong for the BR. It used to, but not anymore. Almost all of their stuff is either subpar or balanced.

Israel is also full of mediocre jets (partly because they variants of US jets) and some are notably overBR’d, china isn’t nearly as bad and you get multiple 13.3 and 13.7 strong options. The M2k Is great for 14.0 and the J-10C isnt bad at all too, but the matchmaker isn’t kind for those.

Israel has 7 vehicles in the TT that I consider good at their BR, from props to top tier. China has 7 good options in a single rank 8, not counting all the rest.

Israel is easily the worst nation currently for air, but if you keep playing one of those 7 options you will still have a good time, and those 7 can be used while skipping the rest and grind to top tier.

Italy germany and france with their eye of sauron eurofighter, you forgot the uk too.

literally every abrams?
The US 8.7 lineup?

F-18A, F-4E, F-15C GE, F-14A on introduction…
Pretty sure there’s lots of examples for props as well

USA is a good nation

This thread is about air vehicles.

The F-18A is very good for 12.3, maybe borderline OP, but that’s about the only thing USA has in such a position.
The F-4E is good for the BR but not OP.
The F-15C GE is good but not amazing either.
F-14A is garbage. It was good at the introduction yes, but I am talking about how things are currently.

USA is not a bad nation, but it’s still mediocre with very few jets leading on the meta for their BRs, but also relatively few jets suffering from being over BR’d

nice job gaijin

48 Countermesseures : It’s not balanced but we don’t buff it because it’s like this in reality!
PL-10 & PL-15 : It’s like this in reality but we nerfed it because we need to maintain the game balance!
Welcome to war thunder i guess
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

J-15T is a failure decision anyways. Typical gaijin gives out a superidol ultra next generation tie fighter then nerf it to pieces because it’s too bloody advanced for the game yet when there’s plenty of more choices suiting the situation. This happend in J-8F, this happend in J-15T, I won’t doubt that this will happen again in the future.

One more second of burn time in the sustainer with a little more thrust won’t save China; we need real change.
We need good platforms; the J10C and J15T need a rework.

The game would literally be unplayable without it.

oh no I actually have to do something instead of flying low (will NOT work irl lol) oh gawd the horror.

I have to learn how to notch? Oh no

My average altitude in fighter aircraft is usually 10-20k ft. The only time I fly low is in ground attackers, where hiding in ground clutter or terrian masking is more effective than anything else, or simply because the aircraft was designed for low alt.

I do “just fine” to “very well” in all said fighter aircraft. I would say flying low is a massive disadvantage these days and anyone smart is just going to counter you flying in MP (its hilarious watching MPing Mig-23MLs eat my Skyflash STs fired from 20k ft)

MP is really only as a last resort when you don’t have chaff or completely messed up your positioning and for forcing the merge against an opponent co-alt.

the height should def be lowered imo, but it shouldn’t be completely removed

Yeah, once in a blue moon, it might actually save me, but then I usually find its because the person firing at me was dumb enough to try it. Though gets quite a bit of use in the Tornado GR4. That is an aircraft that hates being above sea-level, so thats where I fly it and the number of times ive had a premium F-18 fire an Aim-7 at me from low alt is hilarious

It should be set to IRL figures, that would be most in-line with what War Thunder should be. I dont know many figures. But for example Skyflash has a min alt of 33m (though not MP, thats something to do with the prox fuse) and CAMM should be 0m. Aster-30 is like 5m?

personally I think going for IRL values is too much.
Something like 40m is best as it still allows it to be used in emergencies but not as your main method of avoiding missiles.

Better for gameplay
