Well, they’ve put it as a suggestion, so either they’ll change it in five years, or what will probably happen is they’ll forget it in a drawer, or they’ll take a screenshot, put it with the other reports and turn it into toilet paper.
T-72 is itself undertiered though
It’s a good thing that these tanks are going up. They were by far the best 9.0s and imagine being in some unstabilized 8.0, say, a T-54 and fighting this tank with composite armour and LRF and 120mm darts, it was absolutely broken.

I’d say that plenty of our current 9.3s could go to 9.7 without an issue.

T-72A/M1 and ZTZ-96 for sure, and likely also the Olifant, KPZ-70, Magach 7, and TAM 2IP especially if it had its accurate ammunition
Okay, i swear it had a lrf. And i also thought there was a premium object thing as well… Fair enough i dont see why its 9.0 apart from the fact it is rather rapid. Most of the time i see them running the flanks with the light tanks or rushing the early caps to kill the light tanks who probably cant pen them (xm800s and such).

Their best shell has less penetration than the chieftain’s worst shell except against flat armour or at very short range. The AMD doesn’t even have composite on the turret making its protection only a bit better than the base T-55 (at least the Chieftain can hull down!) and the composite that the vehicles do have provides only about as much protection as the base Chieftain armour. Plus, 5 degrees depression.

The composites also make early apds shatter. Quite a bit infact. It took far too long for them to be moved up from 8.7. Its just a better cqb brawler than the mk10 which is most maps nowadays. Just works better for more maps. On maps where u can hull down the mk 10 is infinitely better but those maps are far and few between.
You forgot AMX-30 Super and OF-40 MTCA.

They are like pitbulls without teeth compare to other 9.0s lol only the T-62M1 bites, the ztz88s just beats them everywhere (they also have composite plates in the hull), be it one on one or against other vehicles, ztz88s wins. Not to mention they are also more uptier proof due to having dm23. When you played all these things you will realized that the T-55AMs are the most pathetic mbts at 9.0.

Really, USSR 9.0 is for those that have Object279. It still does its domination thing. Otherwise, China 9.0 is a straight upgrade in pretty much all departments. MBTs, IFV, SPAA, SPG, ATGM carrier. Only thing it doesn’t have is an APS boy that can swat ATGM out the sky, but the AMDs are typically on your team, anyway. Those without 279 are better served beelining straight for 9.3-9.7. Heck, China even has an Object120 on steroids at 9.0 (PTZ-89). There’s just something for everyone.

The only reason why it may make sense to move it down to 10.0 is the fact that it still has a 6.7s reload all the way up at 10.3, and the armour can only really stop darts less than or equal to M774 (~380mm for UFP and turret cheeks), which a lot of tanks at 9.3 (let alone 9.7, 10.0, and 10.3) already surpass with DM33, DM63, etc.
It always seemed to me like a sidegrade to Leopard 2K.

I hate facing the 2k, but there is no way its comparable to a t80ud lol. These brs are so compressed its getting a little hard to argue anything when even 0.3 br differences equate to such big br gaps. The chieftain mk10 is good but is it the same br as a t64a? In no world is it anywhere as good as a t64a.
Jesus, didnt realise they buffed the reload on the t64s as well? love that double standard where shit like the mcs and ariete p dont get the 5 second reload of their top tier counterparts but tanks even as low as the t64 in the family get the reload buff?
I wouldn’t see a problem with the 2K moving up to 10.3 if the T-80UD moves up to 10.7.
