I understand, but this is the J-10 thread.
So let’s try and talk about the J-10.
I am talking about the J-10B? I’m using the J-11A as a reference on why we shouldn’t expect anything special lol. Whenever we receive something Gaijin manages to absolutely destroy all hope for it excluding vehicles like the Tor-M1.
That’s why I have near zero hope the J-10B will be anything special besides a folder worthy vehicle most people will skip. One of the best things this patch is probably the addition of 14.0 lmao.
That’s only if Gaijin was in charge of modeling it without our input.
J-10B should be a notable improvement.
J-10C is a massive improvement. But knowing Gaijin they’ll butcher it.
Well, maybe Snail will be more kind with J-10B and give it proper A2G armament, making a clear distinguished (in game) line between J-10 as multirole and J-11 as air superiority
yes, I know I should add /clueless, but let me ponder on the prospect
Edit:
Also, while in the topic of J-10B… was the TVC testbed combat capable?
Or maybe they should fix existing issue such as J-10A being able to carry more than two LGBs, and have triple racks for unguided bombs.
Would be nice, buuuut… I dont have much hope for this
Well, there was no indication that anything regarding its avionics and radar were removed.
So technically, there is more precedent than something like the Yak-141 which is in the game.
Yeah, the PESA radar of the J-10B and the upgraded engine should be a nice feature but at the end of the day everything rests in Gaijins hand and their way to modelling things (which don’t really have a good track record).

If they actually did that then I’d totally get the J-10B, the best thing China has for CAS outside of the JF-17 and JH-7A is either the F-16A MLU or J-10A which are both horrid for the most part.
The most major aspect for the J-10B for me is its CAS potential.
China’s best CAS right now is JH-7A, which is missing ordnance.
J-10B hopefully there is more data to help Gaijin with.
If they add JH-7A2 with more KH-29T or C-701KD or C-704KD, or add JH-7A pl-5Ell and 4 kh-29T, he be more cool cas than j-10B.
Well, it is a dedicated air-to-ground strike fighter.
But J-10B will still offer something new, it can carry much more than the J-10A.
I still wish we get something like Su-30MKK or MK2 in the future though for CAS.
Some Su-30MK2 has been upgraded to fire PL-12 and PL-8B.
As far as I know, some leakers get their information from a preliminary changes sheet (PDF) sent from someone within Gaijin and upcoming additions and changes are added to it and may be removed from it in future. If that would be the case, J-10B was written there earlier and appeared as coming to leakers.
If they don’t post their source it is simply “I made it up” and nothing more. It’s not necessarily credible. Mike_10d is not an authoritative source of leaks.
It reckon it needs ir aams with irccm especially for ARB. Rn it isnt as bad but before it struggled in when the iriaf was dominating. Also want to q5L to get some sort of pl5 and more ordances cause rn the q5’s have the worst ground attack loadout
I found an image of J-10B’s radar.
Apparently it has approximately in-between 1200-1300 transmit and receive modules.
That is actually higher than Rafale and by quite a margin, considering not until the new AESA is it 1000 GaAs T/R units, which I will assume is lower than that figure before, never mind PESA. Also how can we confirm the first it is J10B and not C, cause the only notable difference between them is the antennas on the back which are invisible due to the crazy exposure.
The first radar in the image I sent below seems to match the J-10B’s radar appearance, and it is designated being for J-10B. So that is what I assume.
This is what the AESA radar for J-10C looks like. Of course, it is covered so we can’t tell the appearance.
Here’s a J-10AS performing a low-speed high AOA maneuver
Looks like a simple dry thrust circle completed with little loss in energy and a tight turn radius. AoA likely not that high, just looks high.
Yeah, looks neat though.
