More experienced US players try frequently to abuse the auto-win by climbing to 8 km at the other side of the map - the only counter is to active blind hunt as soon as possible if just one guy is left, climb to 9 km, fly 40 km and shoot him down - like in this example on Iwo Jima: Server replay link
This is an example of uselss af aaa to cover rearming JP planes on Saipan: Server replay link
My poor last teammate played 1 vs 2 directly above me on our airfield on tree top level to 500 m - instead of luring them away so i could help him in his fight.
You can’t even try take off as you become an easy pick on the runway, so its better to j out of the vehicle in order to deny the US fighters effortless kills - you can’t use your turn advantage if the energy gap is too large…
It’s logically the exact same thing to add more BRs and spread out things by fractions, as it is to just reduce the range. The latter is just way easier to understand and remember, though, practically speaking.
If we have currently a 12 BR range, then 7–>5 range steps is exactly synonymous with having BR 17 as the top, and spreading everything out evenly.
more steps would also allow for a smaller granularity while keeping the spread being 1.0 up and down, but just more accurate which I think would be better than lowering the spread making it feel more suffocating
not really for the simple reason that while there are vehicles might just barely edge into a BR there are also vehicles that are barely still in a BR, a good 7.7 is not the same as a bad 7.7 if you get what I am saying, more granularity would allow gaijin to say “see we only needed 12 BRs” while also allowing for more accurate vehicle placement
Yes but if you increased the BR to 17 and just proportionally moved everything, then all the current 7.7’s would just simply become 10.78’s together, so you didn’t change that.
It would only change if you did NOT proportionally spread them out, but added brand new biases and handicaps that don’t exist currently. Which would than change gameplay, yes, but is also a massive massive business risk to potentially break the entire game at once in unforeseen ways.
I’m currently BR 7.3 as USSR in ground rb, and I constantly get uptiered to BR 8.0 and 8.3, where I have no chance in hell to do anything as those tanks are cold war vs my WW2 tanks.
Which would reduce the amount of vehicles meeting each other much more drastically. Sth people arguing against 0.7 Always say will happen in 0.7…whie the alternative is much worse
Does not apply at all.
You should read the other Threat before repeating eversything already proven/disproven in the other threat.
I personally wouldn’t mind longer queue times for better quality matches, and I think restricting the BR gap by a step would improve the overall balance between teams.
BR compression is something that is unlikely to go away, because there isn’t a smooth gradient in technological developments. The alternative would be to have BRs where there are few or no vehicles.
Having matches that are two BR steps instead of three would have a dramatic effect on BR compression, especially in the upper tiers where 1.0 is the difference between jets like the Phantom and F-16C.
