Changes to the SP cost of CAS in GRB

Only way for SPAA to be balanced is to either be weaker than CAS, or be as expensive as CAS.

Gepard 1A2 and ozelot. 6 spawns if you count Roland

Nope, its balanced as it is now. Leave it at the SP costs and make SPAA somewhat stronger.

Oh, and to all the people going “this makes matches last longer”

HOW IS THAT A BAD THING?

Let’s say you have 60 minutes put aside for gaming.

Which is better?

A:

Boot up Warthunder.
Get a match within ~1-1.5 minutes
Spawn in within 30 seconds plus ~30 seconds loading time
Play for 20-25 minutes.
Spend about 30-60 seconds waiting to return to hangar, reading post-battle summary.
Do this about two times

You played 20-25 minutes for ~3 minutes of queuing/loading game/spawning at most for a total of ~40-50 minutes of fun vs ~6-7 minutes of downtime.

B;

Boot up Warthunder
Get a match within 30 seconds
Spawn in within 30 seconds and 30 seconds loading time
Play for 5 minutes and game is already downballed due to CAS spam so you go next
Spend about 30-60 seconds waiting to return to hangar, reading post-battle summary.
Do this ~9 times

You played 5 minutes for ~1.5 minutes of downtime, so about…
45 minutes actually playing the game and 13 minutes of downtime.

The choice is blatantly A.

Longer games mean you spend more time playing the game rather than waiting at loading screens or staring at results and other distractions.

And this is before we consider that the shorter matches are by virtue much more monotone due to there being fewer points of divergence across 5 minutes than across 25 (in five minutes, many tanks and ground combat vehicles may not even have reached their preferred combat zones)

HUGE +1 to this. It never made sense to me why landing in GRB doesn’t work exactly the same as it does in ARB.

The one issue I could see with this is the Spawn Point cost if you were to try and change to an A2G loadout from an A2A loadout, if the A2G loadout costs more Spawn Points. However, it is “just math”, and I think it would be worth the effort from the Devs to implement this mechanic.

Well then, no need to nerf CAS or buff SPAA.

GRB would be FAR more enjoyable, especially for CAS, if Gajin simply increased ticket count by 50%

Nope. CAS belongs in GRB bombing whiny CAS-hating noobs ( :

This thread is just devolving back into the CAS thread that got locked a week ago. Stop arguing the same points.

“JuST SPaWN a PLaNE” CAS mains for over a year when told to spawn a tank or use a game mode that allows them to fly unhindered be like.

Mfw this change makes the game even better for those that actually enjoy playing CAS and CAP. Making your CAS run much more significant and giving you a good chance to CAP without the massive punishment of bringing two fighters.

ASB…um… How many people play SB? And how many play AB?

I don’t like AB controls and performance and SB is not populated, too long and have those economy issues. Both can’t replace ARB though an ARB EC is needed still

btw how? Bad teams die to tanks far more than CAS for they collapse toooooooo fast…

Earlier we had a few people complaining this will make matches take too long because it allows tanks to hold positions and rather than get clicked on/spacebarred, instead force the map to be engaged with in full.

I am in support of RB EC, but SB is not being populated is easily solved by letting more people know it’s nowhere near as scary as first impressions would make it seem, thus solving the population problem in a positive feedback loop.

I believe that the demand for a score of around 900 and the introduction of the new version’s split-type air defense have effectively curbed CAS.
If this change is implemented, what is the point of attack aircraft on the tech tree? Its versatility is not as good as that of the multi-function fighter, and now it shares the rebirth score. Can you explain the rationality of this?

I think this is a very bad change. It’s a one-size-fits-all approach. When discussing WWII aircraft, if there are enough respawn points, players would always take rockets or bombs when taking off. This way, on the one hand, it can suppress ground anti-aircraft forces, and on the other hand, when enemy aircraft attack, they can jettison the load to engage in air combat. This change makes some systems with insufficient ground strength unable to counter systems with strong ground forces. It also greatly reduces the fun of playing for players. This is obviously harmful to the development of the game. This game mode has always been an advantage of War Thunder and has attracted many players to play. Under certain circumstances, this change has reduced the number of new players joining.

If it’s such a change, then what’s the point for players to take the air force route?
