He only plays Russian in top BR, so no wonder he’s against this update to CAS.

I’ve seen Typhoon fly way above AA range and just destroy practically everything below it. Probably only viable for Germany since the IRIS-T has the longest range, but I imagine it can be used for the UK aswell.
Also, for me I’d just use the harrier. but thats just because I absolutely adore the harriers and im biased
This only applies to matches beyond 10.0. Not something you are familiar with.
Yes but that happens rarely
That tactic is a 100% death sentence vs Pantsir or IRIS-T SLM.
Yeah, They are great fun, but TIALD hurts it loads. Looking forward to the GR9A with Sniper
The thread has massively moved away from its main topic. Please bring it back and don’t turn it into yet another tank only thread, move to those if that’s your intention.

Such a weird tendency for that to happen on these forums
The main topic, as a clarification for those that still haven’t gotten it, is the change to the SP cost of CAS in GRB. Not their role irl or the other things that came up. Please do not talk about moderated messages and just PM a Forum Mod to ask any further explanation.
in AIR RB bombers/strikers sucks are are not playbable, do you think su 34 was added for AIR RB? How is that SU25k doing in air rb? loL
(Update 1.41 - Ground Forces OBT! - News - War Thunder)
Version 1.29 is earlier than version 1.41
Planes existed, including bombers (B-25j in this case), way before ground was even a thing.
Advocate for ARB EC, play AAB or ASB.
My last match of ASB (Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On) - squadron of Bf109F4s + a lonely Ju87 - lost to a squadron of Il2s and Yer-2s and Yak-2 KABBs bombing the hell out of my team’s tanks and bases as we struggled to catch them all in time. There were also a La-5 or 7 and a I-185, but those were inconsequential. All in all - It was a close match, and we did our best but because my team lacked proper ground-strike capability (we had 1 newbie in a ju-87, bless their heart. I also tried to strap a Flamm 250 to my bf109 to go for some bases to get the ticket drain under control).
Patch after patch, attempts are being made to balance the CAS in the game. This is another workaround to add to the list, not a solution. Start redoing the maps for the top tier, with proper spacing, remove the spawn markers on the map, and work on the model of other games to try to balance the game in this direction. There’s also the issue of spawn protection, another example of a workaround and not a solution for games where there are campers at the spawn. It can be useful for defending against tanks, but it becomes OP with new anti-aircraft guns for revenge killing. With the mechanics you’ve introduced, the entire game is now based on revenge killing at the top tier.
I think you said is true. This will only make game become no fun.I hope gaijn will revert this change.
I also do not support this change
If on a certain day during World War II, the Royal Air Force’s Typhoon MK.1B fighter had already carried RP-3 rockets for ground strike missions, what about other aircraft? For example, does the Chesapeake MK.1 attack aircraft need to be provided with double the fuel and ammunition supply to carry out its mission? It is obvious why humans still need to develop IL-2, Stuka, and SBD dreadnoughts if fighter jets can perform all ground strike missions Waiting for the plane?
My suggestion is to increase the SP consumption of CAS in the current GRB mode appropriately (about 1.2 times), but it should not be forcibly doubled, as this will lead to a decrease in the number of players, especially for players around 2.3-7.0. When facing opponents who are several times stronger than themselves, bombs and rockets will be excellent props
But in the United States, although I only have 5 member groups, I carry 3 planes because players who play American vehicles are at a disadvantage in ground combat, especially around 6.0. A large number of Tiger and Leopard tanks are definitely the most difficult enemies to deal with in this weight
We like CAS system today, don’t change it! The CAS today is already too hard with IRIS-T SLM on ground!
I agree. This change will only make players play more passively, render attackers meaningless, and further strengthen the already dominant Germany in top-tier matches, while making other countries weaker
1.2 seems pretty reasonable, but what I think really needs to happen is for CAS SP to be redone altogether.
Imo, it’s pretty stupid that all CAS planes cost the same with default load outs. P.108 (the one with the cannon) costing the same as an Hs 129, or a plane with 7.62s costing the same as a plane with actual anti tank autocannons just doesn’t make sense.
I think that the base cost of a plane should be calculated on how powerful its strafing ability is, and its flight performance.
From highest SP modifier to lowest SP modifier:
Light fighter (Spitfires, Zeros, Yaks)
Heavy fighter (P-47, Fw 190, P-51)
Light attacker (il-2/8/10, AD-2/4, Do 335)
Heavy attacker (A-26, Me 410, Mosquito)
Light bomber (B-25 honestly I don’t play enough bombers to give more examples
Heavy bomber (Pe-8, Lancaster, B-17)
A plane could be moved to a higher or lower tier based on its flight performance. This system is simple enough to be implemented, and would solve a lot of imbalance between CAS and CAP.
And this is exactly why spawn costs need to go up since people that cannot perform in tanks take more than half their lineup as planes as a crutch.
This change discourages such behaviour and promotes actually playing tanks
