Changes to Bomber Survivability

Honestly. Having a version of NT for WW2 era props would help quite alot for bombers and interceptors (except any rocket propelled ones)

@Stona_WT

What aircraft will actually be getting this change?

Is it all bombers (light, medium and heavy, maybe also jet bombers/strat bombers) or just medium and heavy bombers, or is it just a select few this major update?

bombers need to be reachable in order to provide actual counterplay for other aircrafts in the match.

if we didnt get damage rework but bombers spawned at their max alt instead, it would be much worse situation than what we have now.

Wait what? You needed a research with a picture to know that bombers doesn’t have any armor against even 7mm guns? WHAT???

You don’t need to move bases closer or airfields furhter, you can simply calculate the medium climbtime needed for the interceptor to reach x height in x quadrant hand have bombers spawn at an altitude that with x climbrate grants them to be at the same x height in the same x quadrant as the fighter, is it even that hard to understand?

Will the A-10 and Su-25 be modified in the future?

so that would be something where you need to
A rely on those with good climbing power to actually climb
B calculate the height every match (which will confuse players cause their radar alt is different on the same map)

the current improvement will just be enough in most cases, buffing bombers even more will probably not be needed

What about the damage models of other aircraft? Especially jets. The more modern aircraft get the, more sturdy they are overall considering how big the G load requirements have gotten in modern aircraft.

God forbid players using their brain in a match and do what they’re supposed to do instead of mowing grass

Properly sturdy A-10 and Frogfoot are things I look forward to.

As highlighted in the blog,

A-10 and Su-25 aircraft were not based on bomber airframes, and they would be exempt from this buff.

Great.

But like we haven’t even seen these current proposed Bomber changes in game and you already saying “ohhh but these won’t be enough, we need bombers to have even more buffs and for Gaijin to do triangulation on power of planes and stuff” and then the fighters also only get 1 run on those bombers with your method cause they would basically be stalling if implemented like you are saying

I think bomber players should get a choice. Lower altitude but closer to the bases and Higher altitude but further away.

ehh idk that would promote bombing a base and leaving the match instantly too much

Yeah man no worries, you have the absolute truth about everything have a nice day and have fun in game :)

A long-awaited update!

I wonder if this also means there will be better module compartmentalization. Splitting up the primary load-bearing sections, the secondary sections that doesn’t affect the overall rigidity, and simple fairings - rather than just combining them and increasing the hitbox.

On the B-17, the entire tail cone section is literally part of the same module as the mid-fuselage section holding the empennage. This means damaging this section would makes the entire tail root to detach, which makes no sense. This section is independent, and it’s even said it could be jettisoned in an emergency to allow the gunner to escape

this makes me hopefull that we get more detailed damage models through the whole board eventually with time, more points to break the planes bits off, not just 1 or 2 break points but more and so on and on
and i hope that we get more stuff like cockpit visual damage like we used to have, oil staining and bullet holes in the glass
haven’t seen those in years now
with time of course

Tf happened to the poor tail gunner on the second pic

Exactly. This won’t make much difference if you can still chain-detonate bombloads.
