I think I figured out better solution for killing bombers

Welcome back good old Arado Akber gameplay

as always, you’re completely unable to implement gradual changes to test and get feedbacks about them, but you need to break the game.

GJ with the bombers DM. You managed to make then game even more unpleasant and it was a really difficult task.

This is such a great change. so happy to see bombers being similar to how great they were back in the day. Only thing missing is the aim bot ai gunners for them, then we would be back in the glory days of bombers. Anyways i can play my bombers again and not get completely deleted so its pretty nice.

Haven’t gotten around to playing the Tu-95M at 8.3 due to only getting uptiers and Gaijin’s packet loss attacks.

Also, I find it ridiculous how bad community bug reporting is. Like, this has to be some kind of joke.

People can make shit up, admit to making shit up, such as in the Spookston case above with the HSTV-L fuel tanks, and still have it added in-game and remain there.

Meanwhile, I have to drag my balls across the ether just to get PDFs for my bug report about the Tu-95M’s missing radars, and I still get ghosted by Gaijin for months like this is a relationship with those so-called creatures called “women.”

Also i don’t know why i have to state this, Why doesn’t bombers have fire fighting equipment by default like tanks???

It gives the impression that increasing survivability was just numerically increase the amount of “health” the bomber has. No attempt was made to introduce better damage mechanics or more variables to consider in the destruction. What then was the point of consulting historical documentats on the behavior of ammunition and materials if in the end only overall HP “slider” was moved? It wasn’t needed for that.

Yeah and on other hand single Aim9B was enough to kill half crew of B52 and rip its entire airframe apart

the way to “engage bombers” now is to fly in the other direction and take out ground targets to win on tickets

that P-61 was doing that to me and set 3 fires

guess what? nothing happened

its the same if you try to use upwards-firing guns, you will simply do no damage unless you aim for the cockpit

that’s probably the funniest part, because the only thing that will actually result in a fast kill is taking out pilots, .50s are way better than any 37, 50, or even 75mm cannon

fuel tanks will put out the fire, engine fires do nothing 95% of the time

try playing bombers then, it’s a total clownshow

Maybe a tad overkill (if the people saying some bombers are tanking multiple missiles are correct), but overall an awesome change. I love that I actually have to plan my approached to take them out as opposed to bomber being flying free kills. Like I said aside from maybe a TINY nerf this is awesome.

Fires prob need to do a bit more damage, but then again I’m no historical expert. I can say from experience that even if the fire doesn’t take the plane down if will burn through the control surfaces and it will eventually go down. Source i have actually played bombers. Some tweaks will prob be needed in the future but over all its a very good change and wayyyy closer to reality then before

There’s a lot of test footage of when the AIM-9B and Sparrow were developed. And I’m sorry, but a single 9B was enough to destroy the tail of a B-17 target drone and an early Sparrow clapped a B-29 out of the air. Bombers are good at surviving small explosions on the skin from tiny 20mm and 30mm cannons, but definitely not missiles which can carry over 3kg of explosives.
As funny as the bomber buff is now, the current damage model will survive a direct hit from FLAK rounds but in real life FLAK rounds could tear wings off.

if i could record rn id show you a video of me unloading all the ammo of the mig23bn with gunpods on the test flight b29 and the b29 just shrugging it off
its not a good change at all
it makes props literally unplayable unless you play bombers with 50cals or 23mms
(slight overstatement here it makes it unplayable unless youre playing any bomber ngl)

It makes sense, if there is no fuel, or if the sealant works, the fire goes away

doesnt really help jet bombers where the fires physically dont extinguish unless you have FPE

yeaaaa. thats what i was talking about when i replied lol. if my arado catches on fire its just a matter of time till i lose control lol. it looks cool in the meantime though… lol

“Oh no, now I need to work for a kill instead of getting free point”
cry me a effing river.

and after YEARS of .303 MGs ripping of wings with sub-second bursts I’m supposed to feel sorry for him?
Yeah bombers are busted… I don’t care, you reap what you sow and the harvest is in.

No, My argument is “boot meet other foot”

No… or did you mean bomber players rather then me spacificaly?
doesn’t really matter, now fighters need to sweat like bomber players did to get points

You have to understand that the devs have decided not to waste time on this game unless it generates clear, quick profits. That’s why you see them adding new vehicles, small and poorly made maps, and—above all—more premium vehicles (some of them overpowered to boost quick sales). Yet, you will absolutely never see them add any mechanics that are even slightly complex or require dedicated effort, such as improving penetration models for Ground Forces or damage models for Air and Ground Forces. Regarding aircraft, they could overhaul bullet damage models and how rounds interact with modules—introducing drag effects that reduce mobility and speed, differentiating HE damage based on casing thickness (affecting spalling or blast damage), making fires more dangerous (with heat eventually causing structural failure), and ensuring aircraft durability reflects their design and size (e.g., a Yak-3 is fragile, an Fw 190 is tougher, and a P-47 is tougher still). But as I said, the devs won’t waste time doing things right when they can do them quickly and poorly while selling premiums.
The devs created a problem by making all HE rounds deal extremely exaggerated damage. Vulnerable aircraft—like bombers—have become almost useless in the game. To compensate, they gave these useless planes +2000 hit points. This created a new issue: these useless planes are now extremely hard to kill, since fighters still have their original hit points while facing overpowered HE rounds. Add to this the lack of restrictions on aircraft types per match (you could have 16 bombers in play) and the fact that matches which used to last 45 minutes now last only 25 or 30; consequently, you don’t have time to find a tactical advantage to attack a bomber safely.
