Decrease/increase throttle, or flip up/down. Mapping key combinations with them are disastrous
Not entirely accurate.
On the B-17 the dual controls existed for two reasons: the aircraft was considered too much for one pilot over a long mission (workload + control forces, especially in formation or when damaged), and the co-pilot was a fully rated pilot expected to take over if the pilot was killed or disabled. Official training manuals are explicit on the second point.
Head-on attacks by JG 2 and JG 26 were deliberately developed (Mayer and others) precisely because the frontal aspect offered the best chance to hit the cockpit. A single well-placed 20 mm shell could disable both pilots or the critical flight controls. That was one of the main reasons the tactic was adopted.
Cause we dont already have enough “computer aided” or even “ff” stuff in the game…
u know people are already calling hightier a point and click adventure since years… not without a reason… and u want more automation? nah man…
I leave just 2 things here:
- A very smart post regarding financial impacts of the damage buff:
- A vid that summarizes the situation and forum interactions (at the end):
That’s a good video.
Funnily enough i have made a suggestion post yesterday, which is about improving the current ARB gamemode and promoting teamwork, that is still pending approval to the forums.
But alas, we must wait and see if the Gaijin gods deem it worthy to be opened for discussion.
Edit1: In hindsight i should’ve made it into a normal post to gather ideas before putting it into suggestions.
Edit2: The post is up for discussion in the “Game discussion” section. I don’t know if im allowed to link it, but anyone can find it easily through my profile.
There is. The skin of every bomber is 7-10mm of steel instead of <2mm aluminum it should be.
This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.
make it like 6-8mm aluminum
The aluminium skin of planes is less than two milimeters usually. The aluminium skin of the B-29 for example is only around 1,6 mm thick.
It’s crazy how in my last game a B-29 ate 300 rounds of 20 mm bullets all over its structure (mix of AP, HEI and a tracer) but most in its fuselage and it neither killed all gunners nor made it uncontrollable. Three engines were set on fire but got extinguished by the fire extinguisher and after all that it continued its bomb run like it was nothing.
I think I missed 1 aircraft in my summary, due to Swedish techtree being kinda niche.
LMAO.
BTW this thing is winning dogfights vs Bf 109s. I want to believe it’s “muh skillz”, but I am afraid that’s not exactly true.
Except racing games generally you don’t gain anything / lose anything.
And who’s to say we can’t improve upon those as well?
They could spilt lobbies via M&K / controller / HOTAS & VR
(Since Hotas and VR are easy wins for simulator air)
if it was 6-8mm aluminum these planes wouldn’t fly
well yeah?? that was a balance idea
We both probably thought you were serious in believing that 6-8 mm is the real thickness of the planes skin…
rip, maybe if they were built like bugs lol
I think you would need to open a support ticket, no one on the forums will be able to assist you with something like that.
Click the ❓ mark in game, top right corner of the screen. Then click “Support”, select the appropriate options and fill out your info. It can take up to a week sometimes to get a response, so be patient. Do NOT add any replies after the first 24 hours, as each time you edit or add to your ticket it resets your place “in line” and you will have to wait longer. (It is fine to make edits right away if you forgot something, you just do NOT want to make changes days later.)
Be polite and respectful. They are real humans who work through the support tickets. They have always been helpful and polite with me. Good luck.

I think team work does makes the dream work.
Also, apart from the B17 and G8N, I really haven’t seen anything being too tanky.
Both seem to live crazy weapons like 45mms and bigger.
everything is invincible
My observation is that every bomber seems to still tank ridiculous amounts of punishment, even from big cannons. No matter the bombers model or size.
Edit: But luckily the pilots are still as squishy as ever. Sadly HE is now unreliable at dealing damage to the bombers, or even the pilots.
B-25s and TU-1s are pretty easy to kill if you aim a bit.
