It’s 7am on Friday in the US and I got 3 matches in less then 5 seconds.
This is not prime gaming hour. I played 10.7 and then 11.7
I also said I don’t want one team to have higher BR vehicles than the other. We already have mixed nation match making. At the very least, they need to make it so teams have an equal amount of the top tier vehicles. Do that, then start figuring out how to have equal teams. They could even try having no more then 4 top tier vehicles and no more then 4 bottom of the tier vehicles as a start. This way neither team had to advantage or disadvantage.
I’ll concede that you cant have a perfect match maker but game should try to make it a bit better.
And the maximum BR should be raised to 14.0 at least or even 15.0
It would make balancing vehicles like the Maus and other super heavy tanks easier to balance.
Exactly. You can tell if something is balanced by three main factors; armor, gun, mobility. It should do great at one, be mid at one, and suck at one. At 7.0 the Maus gets mid armor with a majority of uptiers, a great gun, and horrible mobility. And before anybody says it shouldn’t be balanced by uptiers, it can still wipe lobbies in downtiers, you’re forgetting about the IS3. Combined with some un-nerfing of HEAT and APHE spall it would perform perfectly fine at 7.0 whilst not being oppressive. That would also make more vehicles VERY fun to play, I absolutely LOVE the M51, it gets great firepower + fun drop that allows for both sniping and funny arcs, bad armor, and mid mobility. Perfectly balanced, and the HEAT can overpressure most open-tops/light stuff, and un-nerfing HEAT would make shots like the one I hit on a Ratel 90, dead center on the front plate only killing the driver, impossible.
How in the everliving thing do you come to the conclusion that the maus has mid armor? Its literally the tank with the most conventional armor all round of any tank in the entire game. Show me any other tank with 180 mm sidearmor, 190 mm in the back of the chassis and 60 mm roof armor? Why do you think that abomination weighs almost 190 tons?
It is so thick that even lots of the non conventional rounds at its br or higher struggle to pen it when angled and even if they do:
the maus is so big that heat usually takes out 2 crew per pen at max in the turret and lots of times nothing else.
Obviously it needs that thick armor all round at its br because its just too slow and sluggish to react to anything surprising it in its flank or from behind. Which is more of a problem than its
“mid armor”
Also:
What please?
WHAT? are we even playing the same game? what do you even mean by that? the spall of the shell after the pen of a certain amount of armor before it explodes? Which was added not too long ago making aphe act like solid ap plus the effect of its explosives.
Or the spall of its explosives which afaik is wildly overexaggerated and makes aphe the most meta and most reliable shell type in game?
as someone who has abandoned several BR brackets I’d otherwise like because of the incessant uptiers, these people can deal with it. change modes or play something else. The matchmaker should be prioritizing quality of games not quantity of games.
You do know that the US has 6 different time zones right? 7am doesn’t really say much. Australian players als tend to play on either SA or US servers since they don’t have their own, some EU and SA players also play on US servers depending on their location and time of day.
Which means that all vehicles on both teams are the same BR?
Valid point.
At that point you might as well restrict the BR range to 0.7 instead of 1.0.
It’s not about quantity, it’s about impatient players that quit the queue if it’s to long, leading to even longer queue times for those that stick with it. Long queue times will make more players turn off the game because “they can’t find matches” (even though they would have if they had waited longer).
Both HEAT and the AP like spall cone of APHE are heavily nerfed, far beyond realism. I do agree to some extent that for some rounds the HE effect might be exaggerated, but overall they’re absolutely nerfed into the ground, making some vehicles that are realistically good absolutely unplayable.
Also anything with 200+ mils of pen, aka the T26E1-1, T32 series, T34, T29, and I think the soviet 122 also gets similar pen, can go straight through the side.
HEAT is the literal bane of any heavy tank, a well placed shot will almost certainly not one-tap it but it’s what makes things like the Ferdinand and Jagtiger fair. That does not mean that the internal damage doesn’t need reworking, it has had long term issues that cause many shots that should kill something to do nothing.
I would have loved to see that in a test scenario for a week, but apparently theres too many downsides to it (which i fail to see, but others do, so anyways)
Instead were caught in a neverending death loop of decompression thats gonna take the next 15 years only for the snail to still introduce bmpts at 10.7 and T-58 at 8.7, Su30Mk2 premiums at 13.3…
Hence why I said “not prime gaming hour” yet I’m still able to get into matches instantly.
It’s the same if I play later tonight when it is. Like you said, we have players from every country playing across time zones. Queue times will be fine.
7 AM in the US on a weekday is not prime gaming hours regardless of which timezone its in idk what to tell you, like you can put that in any US timezone and the time will either be during the workday or the time needed to get ready for the workday. This is a bad example
“straight”. Are you familiar with the term “Angling”? As soon as youre slightly angled exactly those tanks dont or struggle to do so. Your task in the maus is to not let them get flat next to you at point blank. If you fail to do so, you get shwacked. Do you want it to be invincible? because you cant stop people outflanking you?
And all of these have way worse side, front, turret roof annd other armor compared to the maus. Meaning lots of tanks that cant take out a maus even from the side or back can easily take out those.
Possibly, idk if thats true. If it is, and they get reworked, they will become even more deadly for a maus and other heavies, ergo they will be more effective, ergo they will have to go up in BR. How does that change the maus situation? All of that will take at least 2 years in a snails speed.
There are, obviously. MAtch ranges get smaller, so “longer” queue times, variety of tanks in one battle gets smaller. I personally would gladly take that to get more fair matches and not end up in 10 matches straight full uptiers one after another until you stop playing. But all of that has been endlessly discussed in the forums in the past and the other players that saw these downsides have no reason to be lying about them.
The Maus is specifically meant to be a “rolling brick” that can’t deal with flankers effectively, and if you can get behind it, just about any gun at 7.0 can go through. Combined with a 15 second reload on the 128 it’s incredibly easy to just get behind it or straight side on. I’m beginning to think you never fought one before if you don’t know that.
What exactly are you talking about here? These vehicles are perfectly balanced at their BR, I have a feeling you have an actual point that you just didn’t state super clearly here.
Fair enough, it would take a while, and that’s literally the entire purpose. Most tanks with such HEAT rounds severely underperform for their BR, so fixing the internal damage deals with stuff like the Maus and fixes existing balanced issues as well.
