It’s the same projectile. It is DM63, and, next;

That guy has no idea what he’s talking about, DM83 hasn’t even been qualified by Germany, its manufacturer and designer.
Here’s DM63 in front of the Danish Leopard 2A7:

It’s identical.

yeah that’s some hard bs one of the main differences between DM63 and DM83 would be the massively longer rod wich would be heavily noticeable,

You should call the UK Ministry of Defence and request the dismissal of this officer
Or maybe you should stop taking what he’s saying at face value.
i mean, he is the guy screwing you over. you can take the round and get it implemented for the chally 3
while we keep the stuff for the real dm83 lol
lol? why would you dismiss him for what is most likely a honest mistake or hes most likely been told to read from a script and not question it.
This is just a model. The key point is that CR3 can use DM83
It’s not even a model, it is straight up a production DM63. The projectile to the right is just a drill cartridge (for training), and so is the one to the left.
Seriously, you’re talking nonsense.
you did a quick 180 there buddy, even then its no real model.
Nobody of us is disputing that the chally 3 is gonna use DM83 either.
Just that that interview is completly made with mistakes
Sadly not, I wish I could have, it’s from a video produced there
I only care about what ammunition CR3 will use
Although “smart” bwd still will give us dm53
Also i cant even find that video/short anymore on BFBS Forces News or BFBS Radio so it was 100% a honest mistake by the guy and was taken down once realised.
DM53 is not in use by CR3 they are gonna use DM63 cuz of its insensitive properties
still there from what i see
Lol, he quite literally said that the round on the display is DM63, and DM83 was only mentioned as an upcoming advanced KE round for the future.
Turns out, people here have worse attention spans than Gold Fishes and hear only what they want to hear, not what is actually being said.
edit: he also called DM83 a joint-development but that couldn’t be farther from the truth, the British are practically not involved in its development, seeing as Rheinmetall has stated that they’ve already got a configuration that they wanna use (late 2022) and since the projectile is in its qualification stages at this point in time, any sort of collabration would amount to only local co-production, rather than development because the British joined in on it way too late.
He literally physically taps the shell and says “and then we have this advanced kinetic energy round round which is going to be coming into service, which is the DM83”

It isn’t mentioned as some kind of hypothetical future shell, he is clearly inferring that the shell sitting there is DM83, otherwise why literally point at it and tap it while talking about it?
“Which is going to be coming into service” makes complete sense even if it was a real shell because the Challenger 3 isn’t even in service yet, no other British vehicle uses 120mm smoothbore ammo. He could have said the same for DM63 and it be true, DM63 is not yet in service with the British Army.
This isn’t a comprehension error, this is at most the video being incorrect which it certainly could be, you don’t need to infer that everyone who disagrees with you is stupid.
don’t care who develop it or what, I just know DM83 will enter service with CR3

its rather obvious rheinmetall wouldnt give a cutout shell of DM83 to anyone not even germany yet who is the principal customer, and less to be showed to everyone that’s too obvious to be DM63 one of the major differences its the lenght, and that shell is just as long as a DM63 and not 754 mm in lenght

thats propably the only true statement of the video.
because the joint development part is ehhh wonky at best as well and mostly for politicals sake.
Uk is mostly just buying the DM83
