Challenger 3 MBT - Technical Data and Discussion

Written, no.

Thats a shame, I wouldn’t doubt it though

Here you have a video. You can see it is not sped up, and if you exclude speeding up and slowing down to elevate the gun over engine deck, you get a perfect 9s 360, in both direction. But video is no proof at all.

11:54 seconds*

? First rotation 4:26-4:36 exclude time needed to speed up, slow down while approaching engine deck and time needed to slow down, you get 9
Second 37/38-48, exclude above and you have it.

11:54 seconds:

That’s not a thing.

Also not a thing.
That doesn’t take 2 and a half seconds.

Every source and every video points to the same fact: 30-32°/sec traverse rate.

This prototype seems to have a different sight and a lot more roof armour than the previous one shown

I wonder what other changes we will see at the Army Expo :)

Maybe the installation of APS finally…

I think it’s the same sight(s) but with full housings?

I didn’t even notice that, thanks for pointing that one out. But it will be interesting what we will see at army expo 2024 !!

Maybe, the first prototype had a much smaller sight in general though

It also has a better hull armour

Do we know anything about what were they hiding in the lower plate some time ago?

No, maybe they need to further show Farnham and Epsom.

Its the same sight I think, just with the armoured shutter in place. The ratio of the muzzle reference sensor & shroud and sight covering look the same. We already know they’re going for as the contract with Thales was already in place before any hulls began conversion.
