since you are new in the debate i am gonna explain the problem for us
the problem is that since the initial challenger 130 proposal a lot of stuff changed.
Itlay and both hungary bought KF51s 120mm.
So what stops gajin to say now lets make italy the KF51 exclusive tree.
For us its literaly go bank or bust. Cause we dont wanna make a precedent so that gajin can avoid giving us the KF51 130mm.
With the same sketchy excuses you use, can be used to justify the only addition to italy.

Best option is just give it to both nations.
i would have no problem with that, but the issue with that one that gajin has the weird events have to be unique rule.
If germany gets it as an event, it would never appear in the british tree or vice versa.

By your own argument the Germans have just as much claim to stuff like the LMUK Boxers or the RO IWS Leopards, entirely British programmes, but using German Chassis, should go to them right?

I agree that it should go to both, if that becomes necessary, with both ideally getting more unique designs.
The issue with the Cent 140 is the same issue raised with the Leopard 2a4 140: it’s an older chassis that wouldn’t really “match up” to other options.
I don’t really intend to get dragged into the conversation, just wanted to say my piece, but thank you for explaining a bit more.
Then begs the question, why does German need a 130 when they could get 3 Leopards with 140’s? These are all more combat effective and better.

thats questionable. you are comabring last gen cannons to new generation ones.
There is a lot of different tech that goes into it as well, like the better thermals, autoloader and so on.
Pz.87-140 (Late) has modern technology…

There was a 140mm tank gun developed, but it was never mounted on anything AFAIK, just fired from test stands.
A bit like the ZA 120/140 guns

They do care though as interest and potential for the 130mm was already shown. Also adding a testing a 130mm on your test bed tank adds added risk to your tank if you had no intrest in the gun you wouldn’t want that extra risk. This also did cost the MoD as they would been paying for the up keep and the crew of the tank because the crew is defiantly not German
modern is relativ, the new autoloaders are way faster, and 87s should have gen 1 thermals as well as far as i am aware

Late has Gen 2/3 thermals taken from the RUAG upgrade of the 2A4, along with the additional turret composite armour. It also got an assisted loader to help the loader, unlike the Early which had no loading assistance at all and averaged a ~14s reload.
the Ruag upgrade programm is seperate, that never went trough
Technology was shared, this is common. They put alot of effort into this 140 as it was seen as the way forward and most likely will be in the near future…
