It states “add-on packages were designed with D-technology”, as D-technology was a collaborative effort that included IBD i.e the makers of MEXAS-H which is broadly understood to be using D-technology as its base.
In that regard all add-on packages were “D-technology” but split between “early” and “late” variants (look at how KVT looked, and how TVM/2A5 look with their wedges), the report is about internal armor.

The M1E3 program is to be the next evolution and we don’t yet have details on what it’ll look like exactly.

Maybe I’ve misinterpreted what you meant, but I’ve never seen any statements regarding the Abrams X being the SEP v3 replacement.
It’s a replacement in the same sense Leopard 3 is a Leopard 2 replacement, i.e a stop-gap meant til a new gen MBT comes out, even tho both seem to massively increase capabilites over the “older gens”.
Kinda doubt the M1A3 will end up with a fairly standard looking M1A1 turret (Not even a CITV but also did not even remove the mounting point for said CITV?).
One of the main goals of the program was significant weight reduction, from what little those two images show, it’s just an M1A1 with some applique on the glacis.
If I had to place a wild guess, that vehicle it simply a testbed for new tech that’ll eventually be adopted on a platform more heavily modified than this image shows.
Maybe by 2055 they’ll have finished the preliminary designs…
In all seriousness, Europe tends not to be the quickest bunch when it comes to their procurement of new combat vehicles.

nup, germany doesnt use and doesnt plan on use KF51,

so italian tree gonna have 2 service KF51 variants and gonna be known as the KF51 tree in a few years

Why should german tree suffer and not get their rightfull 130mm tanks, when no service version exists yet.
