The lastest Army Recognition on the CR3’s progress (published 17th Oct) states the horsepower of the CV12-9A at 1500hp
Not an official source of course, but still interesting that such a new article is saying 1500hp

Not really CR3 related (posting it here as I noticed it in a photo from the article) but we have confirmation that Javelin will be mounted on the RWS used on Boxer, I’m guessing it’s been pointed out already but it could potentially mean Javelin is viable on Ajax if it’s added to WT

The Javelin for the AJAX would be nice, but i think it would raise the BR a lot (like with the Spike PUMA) for not that much benefit

It could be due to it being a tech demonstrator and therefore maybe not having real armour, but for the purpose of the game that would be pointless
the turret cheeks (the only part modeled of actually having decent protection) have less milimeters of protection than all the other chally 2 mbts

The Challenger 3’s TDs turret cheeks (and entire turret) don’t actually match its accurate visual model.
The Chally 3 TD has got to be the most lazily modelled tank in the game, and I imagine that has a negative effect on its protection

I was at tankfest earlier this year and spoke to the commander of Megatron at the time who is on the ATDU team and he confirmed what any 10 minute google search will tell you that 1500hp is and was the outline for challenger 3

Well the initial google result quotes wikipedia’s 1500hp, which itself has a single article as a source and that article is paywalled.
Googling the CV12-9A hp instead has a reddit post with the QRH twitter screenshot, a WT forum post, the CV-12 datasheet, a WT bug report (saying it should be 1200hp), and then the parliament question where it’s stated that the 9A produces 1200hp. There’s also a result for a UK Defence Journal article that states 1200hp.
TL;DR: a 10 minute google search gives you conflicting answers and has done for a good while.

While we still talking about the engine, did anyone notice that the damage model is still the CR2 one, which doesn’t even align with the actual model, which make it doesn’t get any better and even worse protection compared to CR2, and it’s been reported and accepted for 8 months and nothing happened
The purpose of Challenger 3 in war thunder is to explode and prove it is worthless against T72s, it doesn’t need a damage model.
Its been mentioned a lot you have talked about it here aswell
