Well, most Challengers 2s are already at 11.7 instead of 12.7
The 2E should really be moved down to 12.3
The 3TD should be 11.7 as it’s literally an unfinished vehicle irl (and ingame) so it lacks a lot of what is required for top tier. Alternatively, I would prefer if it was given a 5 second reload and moved to 12.3 (or kept at 12.0) to have a small lineup with the 2E and Tornado GR.4
The BN is alright at 12.7 as it’s got an extremely good APS, it can’t really be anywhere else

Gaijin won’t do it.
the main limit should be firepower, its not the only MBT with a relatively weak hull but spall liners, mantlet/trunnion protection, add-on protection, and even with regards to the firepower theres a report that was accepted 2 years ago regarding L27A1 mass and dimensions but hasn’t been actioned, and they could easily expand the first stage stowage.
Will any CR2 match the performance of the Leo2A7V? i doubt it, but they’re still missing things they should have which would improve their performance in-game.
An equal, no.
But it should be a far small chasm than what we have now.
Challenger 2 should hold its own in terms of survivability, just be behind the curve in shell pen power.
With an Actual Challenger 3 being way overdue

If we look at it from an objective standpoint the Challenger 2’s should be 11.3
Compare it to the M1A1 which is 11.7
Mobility is worse
The best round is worse (M829A1 Vs L27A1)
The rate of fire is worse (5 seconds for 4 rounds Vs 5 seconds for like 20)
Armour is probably the same
Thermals are better.
Compared to the Challenger Mk 3 it’s not 1.0 better than it.
I think a compromise of moving the Mk 3 to 11.0 and the 2’s down to 11.3
Then we can get the Vickers Mk 7/2 and the T-90S can get 3BM60 (unless India never got them)
11.0 lineup for the Hawk 200
11.3 lineup for the Tonka
Also move down the ADATS while they’re at it.
Also give the Super Hind Mokopa put it to 11.3

sure the aussie kit is nice, but it should of been there to begin with.
THey are killing hte CR2 this patch xD the ERA is gettin gbuffed, the L27A1 which is historically anti ERA, is rejected as well as the turret basket crap.
know what I mean, one of the most effective MBts in the world, which statistically it is. left hagning like a bag of mince.
Seems to be keeping up just fine with it’s contempories, though sure it’s not an equal to the tanks which are rolling off R&D lines recently.
The armour is literally half of what it should be, it’s also missing penetration in its munitions.
Sure the tank is long in the tooth now but the CR2 is definitely no blood push over at all.
It’s proven itself time and time again to be an extremely effective MBT.
the damn hull shouldn’t be that weak though either which is ridiculous.
They should fix the stowage first and foremost. as well as that the damn l27A1 dimensions report is a joke they should of acted on it long ago rather than just jamming a Dm53 carrier into the tree.

the challenger should have

The best frontal protection ingame arguably with a much stronger ufp and better armour on the breech

better mobility due to neutral steering which isnt in game (yet)

probably better gun handling but thats debatable

a round on par with other modern ammunitions as its supposed to have more penetration against non era and era such as K5
-
slightly better survivability ingame but not there due to lack of spall liners
-
a much better ROF than currently in game
none of these things would make it the best tank in the game or anywhere near meta but it would be way more up to par with other top tier MBT, if you add all those things to the best challenger we have being the black night it could be quite a menace but hey its british so who cares

and the hydrogas suspension mate don’t forget the cheiftain also loses a lot mobility due to that.
Sadly why I spoke to you about hteir flaws in comparison to the other MBts, not that the CR2s are bad, they just cannot contend with teh sheer volum of better or on par MBTs

the challenger 2 has been able to keep up with tanks built a lot later than it and if were talking about tanks that are starting to roll out then we can also talk about the challenger 3.
yes i forgot about that, the challengers performance on rough terrain should be some of the best in NATO but it is another thing gaijin refuses to take notice of
i mean the black night if played correctly can be quite good but other than Iron Fist theres not really any reason to use it over like a 2A7V (other than looks ofc ofc)

that’s exactly my point, it’s you know where doing just fine, bar sinking a bit.
as should the chieftain VS the Nato tanks of it’s BR, the Chieftain off road could keep up almost with leopard 1. due to how much speed the leopard would lose off road, as per the tank chat on the Cheiftain from the Bovington tank musuem as well as Janes book on it.
this is the google AI thing, so not certified but it does justify what I stated about cheiftain.
even the merkava mk4s have better mobility, far better roubd, reload, and on par protection int eh turret

i mean its performance in that certain eastern european conflict it seems to be doing quite well compared to the 2a6 and m1a1 that are over there
mobility yes but turret protection goes to the challenger and iron fist is better than trophy by miles but still doesnt make up of the lack of firepower and mobility

exactly my point, and the STRV variants of the 2A5 that are there.
The turret on the Mekrava mk4 has saved me from substantially more than the armour on the CR2, a slight angle and people just shoot throuh the side of the CR2 turret.
I’ve also not had so many bloody shots through the top of the turret.
agreed trophy isn’t as good as Iron Fist however, the round, reload and mobility definitely make up for it.
Call me odd, but I prefer it without the Stillbrew!
