this it a bit off topic, but out of Curiosity @x_Shini, would you consider the Leos tested by Britain and South Africa to be fair game for the British Tree then?
Or the Leopard 1 Modified by Royal Ordinance with the 105mm IWS?

no i dont think so.
i think that, like the lep, a number of cr2s may have been provided by the uk for rheinmetall to provide solutions for the replacement of the cr2.
solutions dependant of what the uk would require.
lets say they would be presented to the german army, where would they get more cr2s to make them? would the uk just give the cr2s away?
why? we can have both, kf51 130mm is german as well as is chally 130 and the 140mm german / swiss version
strictly speaken they can all be added to germany, there is no reason to restrict this, besies u not wanting it,
Its like saying the US should get most of their jets removed
not all nations will get it, its as simple as that, japan /israel or sweden wont get higher caliber tanks either
you arent entitled to it thats the thing
yes generaly for all current tank turrets, its highly interpretable
Why is there a challenger 3 argument in the challenger 2 thread?
they are fair game yes, trialed vehicles are wonky, but in general as proven with sweden they do happen
not aware of that variant, but by the forum rules it would go to the nation which developed it, going by the name UK propably
its one of the reasons the leo 2a4m can went to germany as well
the modification is entirely german developed as well
Welcome to the forum
chally 130 is not a chally 3 strictly speaken, its a modified chally 2
I’ve been here a while.
Cool story, and a challenger 3 is just a modified challenger 2.
Still has its own thread.
ah yes, a modified chally 2 that should go to germany.
lolol
the chally part is entirely irrelavant, it was a vehicle to test the gun behaviour on a tank. thats all.
and the interview stated as well. they had time leftover and played with it as a result it had nothing to do with chally 3 development
yeah Im not sure what the fuss of that was other than “muh commonwealth” which gaijin just doesnt seem to have an actual plan on, considering each branch of the UK tree seems to have different rules on that.
but hey, we can still get the 2A6M /s
iirc it was a Canadian C1 fitted with an improved 105mm gun (IWS means Improved Weapons System) developed for the RO2004 Light tank and that was eventually fitted to Canadian Leopard 1s, it was also fitted to the M60 that is in the Tank Museum now I believe.
thats the same argument as a german saying strv122s should go to germany
so, in this game, like every other vehicle, when they fit that 130mm on a leo theyll give it to germany.
Sorry to say this, but thats a bad argument, as 122 is a service vehicle.
We still arguing about this
in that case propably germany, nation aint in game, so it would go to the original developer of the base vehicle most likely
if gajin doesnt decide its potentialy filling a role in UK
similar enough
yeah sorry about that
